Check this thing out. Anyone used one of these motors. Its made by the Moki and i know the glow motors are very nice. Looks like a perfect fit for a FW 190d like the 50cc ESM

I'm running two MOKI glow engine, a 1.80 and a 2.10. Both are great engines. In my opinion,  the best of the two cycle  glow engines on the market. I'm sure this will probably be just as good.

You might pm Jose from Fliteskin.com, I was speaking with him a couple of days ago, and he said that he was going to be carrying these motors if I understood him right. I know he was talking of using it in his new TA 152.
Maybe he would have the info on it.

an inline twin is a great find for a spitfire  mustang type of install,    but in a round cowl, would it not be easier to fit a standard motor?

Pretty cool. I do wonder about locating the carburetor on the bottom of the engine. That would protrude out of most cowls. A little strange in that respect, but perhaps this is just temporary for the prototypes?

I guess the fit all depends on how long the cylinders are. An opposed twin would not be any narrower. Also the carb does not really matter. I would most likely mount the thing inverted anyway putting the carb on top. No problem there either with it hanging out of the cowl. This looks to be a great configuration IMO.

I had oportunity to pick up the glow version and wish I had....for a very nice price NIB...

I realize these have a dif. head for cooling purposes....

If I remeber correctly, a Gent. had a twin glow, and he had trouble with the mixtures, in that there was a big dif. between the front and rear.

He had added a spacer to the rear of the engine, which evened out the volume( increased the amount in the rear engine) and it worked perfect from then on...

There gas singles work very well...

This engine may be quite spendy...not sure though...

Probably a good running motor but who the heck wants a carb sticking out the top of the cowling.. Most of the planes this would be a candidate for probably wouldn't have a cowling big enough to hide the carb sticking up.. Look how far the carb sticks up on that p-40 in the first video.. Looks like a solution that causes more problems than it cures..

You are right Casey, I've been talking to Moki in Hungary the past few weeks in order to bring the line home, at least the gasoline line.
I've been running 1.80 and 2.10 Mokis for the last 12 years in most of my warbirds.
The prototype 83 inch Spit has over 300 flights with a Moki 1.80 and it was used when I bought it!!! I can think of a couple of dead sticks in those years, one was fuel exhaustion.

There is just nothing better period. Now that the gasoline frenzy is on full swing, the G line of Mark/Moki will be awesome.
DOn't forget Moki has been making model engines since 1957.

Now the 360 has tremendous potential and has been a success with glow as well. The carburetor is not a problem and will not stick out in 99% percent of the cases. The distance from the center line is 73mm or 3". Most non radial engined warbirds of 1/5 of larger have a spinner at least 6" in diameter, so the carb will be completely concealed. (my 1/5 Me109 has a 5.8" spinner)
No need to worry about the rear cylinder cooling, is not a big deal if you built a small baffle with thin ply. Remember most full size air cooled engines also have a rear row of cylinders.

A lot of the warbirds I produce need a thin engine profile, so I'm looking forward for the 360, and the price will be competitive as well. One candidate I can think of is a 1/5 scale SPitfire Mk IX.

Prices will be up on the website in the next few days.

JG

Just for reference, this is how the Moki 360G will fit the Bates P51B, a 1/5 scale Mustang. Spinner is 5.5" with 89" wing span.

As you can see the carburator is not at all an issue even on a narrow fuse warbird. There is only the front spark plug needed to clear the cowl, looks like it will need a 1" prop extention to have no cutout for the spark plug. Overall the fit is nice from the start.

That would be an awesome mod.

The engine looks very promising. I've been waiting for a compact inline twin like this to come out for a while.
