Status: offline 		Have about 2 1&2 gallons through the stock .18 and during this 90 degree weather it's hard to run no matter how much I richen it. Maybe 2 tanks with the body on then it's so hot it doesn't like to start. Maybe new piston/sleeve?

Status: offline 		I always found one good test for compression is to hold the car up by the pullstart, if it stays up or slowly falls (grabs and lets go, grabs and lets go) then the compression is good (do this before running it) if the compression is low then it will usually stop running during the first tank of fuel when it warms up. Sounds like you may have an air leak that is causing it to run lean and hot.

Status: offline 		I have already gone through it and sealed it up. Still has decent compression when cold,runs great for quite a while then eventually overheats....

Status: offline 		The overheating sounds like air leak issue, check the o rings on the needles and the front bearing. A worn engine wont just overheat, it will loose compression when it gets warm from the expansion and not run well unless its rich since the excess fuel helps make up for the gap from being worn, if its getting hot it a fuel/air issue.

Status: offline 		Yeah the compression isnt the greatest when hot so it might be worn out come to think of it. I've been around nitros for many years now and this sh.18 has always been a bit finicky,got better after sealing but still a problem child. Thinking a new O.S 18cvrx would make a good bday present to myself . So far the only problems I've had with this Caldera are the front knuckles (probley the bigger tires and constant crashing) and the engine.

Status: offline 		you cant go wrong with the cvrx, its a direct fit, easy to tune and has some nice power, i have it in a few of my rc's and very happy with it, only problem I have seen is the one way bearing seems to go bad in them, i have had to replace 3 out of the 4 engines i have, funny since its an external one and they rarely go bad.

Status: offline 		Stupid question would this SH .18 make more power if I replaced it with a new piston/sleeve combo but P&P it before restoring? More than the O.S.?
