Yeah, I was there, stuck in the 150th row of the South 40. I'll bet it was almost 1/2 mile from the shower/shaving facilities! Doesn't seem to be much interest in the Air Adventure in this forum, at least this year. It was really sad about the pilot who was killed when his P-51 went in during a turn around maneuver a long ways away from the airfield.

Here is a pict of the White Knight/SS-1 during one of their fly-by's.

Just got back 2 hours ago, 14 hour drive, the experience was great, everyone should make it to Oshkosh at least once. Here's some pictures:

Nice pic's. I was there Thursday, perfect weather. It was cool to see all those planes up close. The air show was great. I never saw a Super Corsair or a Spitfire do 4 point rolls until then. The super aerobatics by Mike Goulian, Curby Chambliss, Sean Tucker, Jim Leroy etc, were all great as usual. I always learn lots when I watch them fly.

You guys make me jelous. I have not been able to get back since 1978, been a member of EAA since '87. Soon man, soon. By the way my flight instructor at the time was going and offered a seat to split up the cost. Turbo Arrow's are nice.

GarySS,
If you're talking about Dick James, that is sad. I've met the guy a couple of times and my dad knew him pretty well. He flew from an airport that is only about a 1/2 hour from where I live. From what I heard, he was flying formation with another plane and his just rolled to the right and into the ground. I don't really know what happened. Does anyone have more details?
