Status: offline 		Here is a thread to talk about all Tornado EPX's. Pro or Standard version. Post questions, problems, picture's, video's, idea's, etc., aything about the Tornado EPX.

To start it off, here is mine. It is all stock. I just replaced the receiver, and front hub bushing's which are on there way from RedCat right now.

I noticed these car's seem to be very seldom. So let's see how many are really out there.

Anyway, go ahead and post.

Status: offline 		Since not many people if at all have them on the forum you can make it a 1/10th epx thread. Those are a lot more common and they are basically the same.

Edit- plus ive got a volcano vortex epx that i would love to have a thread just for them. To post upgrades, tips, tricks and everything else.

Status: offline 		I'm just curious why there is a heat sync on a brushed motor on that particular buggy? Do they get that hot? I know my brushless stuff will. So I have to gear them down. I was thinking about getting some electric vehicles from Redcat Racing for the family. To me, electric is easier to mess with unless it has problems. It is a good looking vehicle. Is it 4 wheel drive?

Status: offline 		Yep 4wd, a heat sink just lowers temps, they dont get real hot, but ive alwyas wondered why they came on the brushed and not brushless. I love my brushed vortex, which is basically the same. Not super fast but does great on the track cause its just fast enough to clear everything, so you just pin it haha.

Status: offline 		Yeah, the Tornado really is a great car. It is virtually maintenance free, and runs a very long time. The 4WD is great for quick, precise, handling, and great off-road abilities. As Chevy said, the heat sink, is just to keep the motor temperature's down.

I think that they come with brushed motor's because the brushed is more of a beginner version. When the Pro version is for the slightly more experienced driver, because of the speed.

Just to add to the conversation, I noticed the seller's of the Tornado EPX have dropped drastically. When I bought mine, everybody sold them, now it's normal to see Five stores, out of four Google pages sell them.

It is weird how such a good car is seldom sold.

Status: offline 		Is it that good? I may just look into it myself then. It looks good. I would put my Sidewinder System in it and put the XL 5 and Titan motor back into my Rustler. If it can be done. I like that it is 4 wheel drive.

The brushed is the older version. The brush less is the new current model.

Status: offline 		Well the brushless is just newer better technology. Night and day difference from a stock brushed setup to a brushless setop. The brushed does 20mph with the stock battery, and 26 with a 7 cell battery. Ive havent clocked the brushless but its definitely faster. Plus the brushless has almost no maintaince, verses you have to clean and lube brushed after every run, and rebuild them (if you can, but you cant with the stock motor), and they dont last very long. Brushless is the way to go, but i do love my brushed one though.

Status: offline 		I know. I'm just playing with ya. I played with my Rustler after it rained Saturday night. Then some people on another forum wanted me to put up some pics of it. It was quite dirty. Lots of grass and leaves and water. I had to dry it out. Under the battery was a lot of water. No mud cause there isn't much mud around me house. I was just joking with you. It looks good like that.

Status: offline 		Is the tornado exp a durable vehicle. What upgrades are needed. I found a brushless model on e-bay for 183.00 shipped. Is that a good price? Is it difficult to find parts? Where do you find the parts. I havent seen many places that sell them. Whats up with that?Its either this or a stamped.

Status: offline 		Yeah, for what it is, it is a pretty durable vehicle. Now, I have never beat it up off-road or anything, although I do know It is very good on pavement. As for upgrade's, that is purely up to you. You might want to upgrade, the gearing, or even change the bushings to ball bearings. The Bearings are one of the ones I would recommend, if you ever get the chance to buy them, and install them.

$183.00 shipped is a great deal. This considering the car alone is usually around $190 to $200.

If you look around you should be able to find some parts. I know RedCat direct sells some parts, but not all. Here is what RedCat direct sells: http://www.redcatracing.com/s.nl Just search for your car.

I think the main reason not many retailers sell parts for the Tornado EPX Standard, or Pro Models because they are not the most popular. Electric is a little less popular than Nitro, and RedCat is not known everywhere yet. Although, they are starting to grow pretty rapidly through hobby shops, and other Hobby Retailers.
