NB 4th gear calculation
Gear Ratio Calculation....
This is for a 34x10 fourth gear
x = multiply
/ = divide
Gear one (on the axle shaft) makes one revolution, and has 42 teeth
1x42=42
it engages gear #2 on the 16 tooth gear
42/16=2.625 revolutions
the 42 tooth part of #2 also makes 2.625 revolutions
2.625x42=110.25
and it engages the 12 tooth gear on #3
110.25/12=9.1875 revolutions
the 47 tooth gear makes the same 9.1875 revolutions
9.1875x47=431.8125
.................................................. .................................................. ............
and engages the 10 tooth on gear 4
431.8125/10=43.18125 revolutions
the 34 tooth part makes 43.18125 revolutions
43.18125x34=1468.1625
and engages the 8 tooth pinion
1468.1625/8=183.5203125 revolutions
which rounded up would be a 184 to 1 final drive ratio
Everything above the dotted line is the calculations for the 3 stock NB gears.
So, you can start with 431.8125 and use the tooth count on your 4th gear & pinion gear
to determine your final drive ratio .

RE: NB 4th gear calculation
Okay so my gears are as follows
42 axle -> 16
42 -> 12
47 -> 12
47 -> 10 (motor)
continue'ing after cobra's calculations. of the 3rd gear.
431.8125/12=35.984375
35.984375x47=1691.265625
1691.265625/10= 169.1265625
SO that being said, many thanks to cobra. I have a final gear ratio of 169 to 1
