Default New mods for newbright sled

OK guys here is a few pics of my new mods for newbright sleds.

First off I was getting really $^%$#^# with the track slipping when I used any kind of real power but I have since solved that finally.
Now it can take all the power I want to give it

i have spent the last 3 weeks getting the suspension to work just right.
I am using a 2 inch high tubing under the track and you can see that no matter what part of the track will always
be touching the ground this is what was so hard to get right I wanted the track to follow the terrain so you can always have good traction.
It will not work right with the way it is setup from newbright, now this is just a prototype
when I have all the wheels and arms done I will post more pics.
I have made all aluminum wheels for the track the plastic ones in the pics were only from testing.
This thing does catwalks like crazy now, and the track has not slipped once.
you can see all the dirt in the pics, snow was gone before I could get it finished but should be getting more this weekend I hope.
I will be posting a video of it this weekend.
I am running a 4 cell lipo with an align 600xl and custom belt drive 3 to 1 ratio.
If you would like to know any info on it please feel free to ask.

Now here is the pics

OK here is a little update.
Well we got some more snow, I finally got it out in the snow after a few jumps and flips roll's well you get the idea LOL
I broke a few parts so I had to add some bracing for the suspension arms you can see in the pics also with the arms
being this short they are a lot stronger.
well anyways here is the pics.

Looks great Hurricane. Did you ever get around to posting a video? What did you do to solve the track-slippage issue?

All the best.

Yes, do tell about the ESC... we need to know what kind of power output you're getting to see if we can exploit this for bigger motors in the trucks and buggies. Also, what kind of shocks do you have on there? Are they stock New Bright or ones you put on yourself? It appears the positioning is upside down as the oil chamber should be at the top so the shock moves the piston up into it. From what I can tell, it appears as if this chamber is on the downward side. This will decrease your suspension's performance quite a bit. The piston should always be compressed upward into the oil chamber. It's hard to tell the actual type of shocks you have from the photos. If you have just a set of cruddy New Bright spring shocks, check out my build post for ideas on how to modify a New Bright for hobby grade oil shocks.

It's a pleasure to have you here. Don't be quiet. We enjoy the activity and new builds. Especially ones we don't have in our possession yet.

The esc is a mamba monster and the motor is align 600xl.
The shocks are from a traxxas e-max I just put stronger springs on it.
If you check out my other build its almost the same.
I have put a gps in it to see what it will do I have got 47mhp out of it , it will do cat-walks now at will LOL.
Sorry I have not got a vid of it up yet we have no snow any more but I could always so you what its like on pavement I have made wheels for the ski's

If there is anything else you would like to know just ask.
here is my other post of a build

Hey texx

I only use the new bright ones cause there track won't stretch that much and they are the only one's
that have enough room inside for just about anything you want to put in there.

neyou86

Not to sure on the cost but if you look at some of my other posts on the build I give a price break down for every thing.

glad you guys liked the vid

Believe me I have tried all the other sleds out there even a artattack one.
the only one that has held up is the newbright one.
They are easy to mod you can just add a new brush motor and good batteries and your off.

So I would say go with the new bright sled.
