Default 1/10 NB Crawler

Hi everyone...here is my modded New Bright [8D]

The stock gearing was weak...so I took Texx's advice & did a 4th gear mod 46x10.
While the axles were open I installed 280 motors from an old megatech rc tank
also fabbed a mount on front axle for a H/G servo.

Decided to trash stock suspension & chassis & make a 4 link set-up
new axle,link, & shock mounts

completed front axle

new chassis with H/G electronics

cut tires ,thinned sidewalls, & removed chrome from wheels

Modded an old NB jeep body

Finished crawler with working lights & home made decals

That won't effect what happens here. It's bad mojo in the forum software. Anything within brackets for coding needs to be lowercase. For example IMG, URL, B, I, U, COLOR should be converted over to img, url, b, i, u, color. For some reason, IMG can also be used in caps, so that's why your pics haven't gone to the land of garble. Here's a better explanation... http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_86...anchor/tm.htm# Post #34

HI Garret, Wow,this is the first time i've been to this forum in a long time & was surprised to see my old thread at the top of the page.
I got my Tx & Rx,ESC & servos from Ebay..You can usually find them pretty cheap...I think i paid about $40.00 total for everything, brand new.
Good Luck with your build,
Joe

hey FJ.   I have those losi rx-280 motors as well.    Just so you know,   I tried last night to hook one up to the stock electronics.
DO NOT DO THIS!
heh heh,  I lost the abbility to drive forward on that axel.

Did you manage to find new electronics?  I might need to upgrade soon too

all i gotta say is good job man, that thing looks amazing! i'm in the beginner stage of doing what you have done, here i'll post a pic

The only modifications i've done is
dual battery (1000mah) vs stock 1x 600mah
1 " body lift
new springs
rear 4 link suspension.
cut tread of tires

i ordered 2 spur gears from a traxxas RC from my local hobby shop. im going to keep the stock motors and add the 4th gear to give it more power

where did you get your spur gear set?

today i broke the suspension, had to super glue and hot glue gun it back together, so now you've given me many ideas on what i can do to my crawler, only after i buy a axial so that i never loose out on the chance to play in the snow!
