HELLO .. nbcrawler

I removed the floor .. [X(][X(][X(][X(]

The secret is to lower the body as much as possible. [sm=thumbup.gif]

The body of a crawler should always be at its lowest.[8D]

What is the 4th gear mod I have read about. I just got my first newbright crawler, what should I do first? I would love to go with some new motors with more torque and possibly go with 4 wheel steering. All opinions would be appreciated.[:-]

Also, what is a flapding shock & how can it help with getting more articulation out of my newbright?

Hey Texx, I was checking out your shock diagram, but it is a little fuzzy. Can you help me out at all with some suspension mods on my jeep newbright?

The shock flapding have a tube that enters the interior of another tube, and this lengthens the articulation of shock ..

You can also make parts with brake ..

see pic below [8D]

PS ..
You can cut a bit of plastic around, pivot your newbright for a better articulation ....

You can install the 280 (buy at hobby store) and also install a pinion 8 tooth .. (stock pinion is 10 tooth) and then, if you want to have a ratio of 184 / 1, you can install a 4 th gear of 34x10 tooth ..

I have the Jeep rubicon NB with the black body and blue cage, I have seen a few pics posted around. It is 1:10 scale I believe. Which part are you refering to by the stock pinion Texx? Sorry, I am new to gears and axles and I have only opened my rear axle once.

OK.. You have this model .. 1/10 RUBICON

The pinion is a small gear on the shaft of the motor .. You can change to a smaller .. The stock pinion is 10 tooth, and you can install a pinion 8 tooth .. As on the pic ..

You must find a pinion ( 2) that will fit well with the third gear, your differential ..and also on the 4 th gear, did you decide to do the installation.

4 th gear .. 34x10

################################################## ####

If you install the 4 th gear, here the position of the 4 gears ..

Your 8 tooth pinion, causes rotation of the 4 th gear ..[8D]

################################################## #######

COBRA69 installation ..

He kept the stock pinion and install a 4th gear .. with more tooth than my 34x10 ..

COBRA69 said ....

I have used different size compound gears for the 4th gear mod with good results, the only thing that changes is your final drive ratio.

46x10 10t pinion=199 to 1
46x10 8t pinion=248to1
42x14 10t pinion=130 to1
42x14 8t pinion=162 to 1
56x10 10t pinion=242 to 1
56x10 8t pinion=302 to 1

Hope this helps a little ......

I'm looking for some lower gear sets. I've been to two big hobby shops and they haven't had the gears or can't find them without me giving them a model of RC they came out of. Can anyone tell me a part number for the gear packs or the model of RC they were actually for that you used to put lower gears in your New Bright crawler.

Any help is greatly appreciated. My 6 year old loves his New Bright and I've done some of the simple suspension mods and fender trimming, but it needs better crawling capabilites.

THANKS!!!
