Default Radio Shack...something

Some guy gave this truck(?) to me a few years ago, he had broken the body off, so I never knew the name of the version. I it 4 wheel drive, has some spring shocks. It went decently fast back in the day, it could do some jumps and if you went just right it would slide on gravel...lol

Well....I kinda liked to drive it in the water, a lot. And then it stopped working kinda... It goes forward, doesn't turn, and when you try to reverse, it goes forward still, (but slower, I think)

Anyway, I have it all taken apart, SOMETIMES when I mess with the steering it works, but other times not. I can't figure out why it would be doing that...? No clue on the reverse thing...I've pretty much given up on it.

Any ideas on what to do? I guess I should try some fresh 9v's...but I don't want to buy them, and then not use them if it still doesn't work

Brainanator .. HELLO[8D]

.. and welcome to our section ..

Your rc, is a model of RADIO SHACK (hummer / raminator or dodge ram) ..

The motor is a 540 ..

Your panel should be damaged .. by water or something .. Check all wire ..

You might find another electric panel (at RADIO SHACK call for information), or installed an ESC HOBBY GRADE ..

I already had this model, and it is quite powerful ..

I show you a small video ..

My model came from a HUMMER MATTRACK-RADIO SHACK ..

7.2 volt x 2 in parallel ..

For (parts )

My DODGE RAM ..

My HUMMER with other body ..

wow, thanks for the huge response texx!

After looking at your....guts, I would probably agree that it is one of those. Maybe an older model? The guy gave it to me like 5-6 years ago. The really good batteries he gave me are....1200mAh Ni-Cd...lol With a quick charge of 0.35 amps.....

I'll post some more pics of....everything, it just kinda started to work again. I got to drive it around a little, then it stopped working altogether.

Does Radio Shack have parts for these? How much would a new mobo/motor/turning motor (is it even a servo?) cost me? (roughly, if anyone knows...) lol

Thanks again, and boy, mine has a horrible turning radius..if it made 10 foot wide circles it would be turning sharp!

HELLO .. rcToyotaman .. [8D]

The only mods I have done on this toy-rc, radio shack, is the installation of electronic 9.6 volt, the rubicon jeep 1 / 10 with the controller, ( Proportional steering )...........

My neighbor wanted, and I sold a reasonable price.

You can see from the photos, the red switch, and the tamiya connector ..

I installed the 9.6 volt battery in the stock compartment .. and the electrical panel, under the body ..

It still works .. [sm=thumbup.gif]

THANK

well, i decided the motherboard in there is shot from all the water I ran it through when I was younger. So I'm just going to wait till I upgrade my Slash to brushless, and I'll put the stock slash electronics into this guy. Not sure what I'm going to do about steering...

texx, I see that you have a hobby ESC in one from the pictures in post 4, are using the stock steering "servo"? or did you stick in a hobby grade servo and make it work?

Brainanator ..
This image does not come from me (sorry) ..

Install a servo HG would be the best solution, but in these models (hummer / dodge-ram / raminator / ramunution / from radio shack), space is limited.

But with imagination, you should do so.

I think the servo HG, must be installed in an upright position ..

In any case, you will need to change the stock servo, because they are not very good ..

You will have everything you need with the kit FUTABA ..or other kit ESC ..[sm=thumbup.gif]

For HUMMER MATTRACK ..

Hey Texx, nice picture of that blue LRP ESC with the Futuba receiver on the Radio Shack Hummer, I wonder where you got that picture from?? I just so happen to find my own picture by accident. FYI, I am running Deans connectors, I am running 5100 mAh Ni-MH batteries, the more powerful battery is melting the metal contacts in the Tamiya connectors. I also fried my Trinity Komodo Dragon 19 turn motor. I am thinking of going brushless motor.
