Default Trash find

Look what I found in my local trash drop off place today..Its a new bright really large monster truck..This truck is new because there are no scratches,or marks what so ever, the wheels are not even scuffed.......And it looks cool with out the body..How do I begin to mod this?

There was no controler or battery just ,this put on top of pile...Its a real nice find...

dixiedriver .. [X(] COOL TRUCK [X(]

Welcome to th forum, which specializes in TOYS / MODS ..

You can install new shock (oil shock) ..

If the motor is not powerful enough, you can change it.

and also install an ESC system to replace the stock ESC, which are not very efficient.

You may, however, lowered the body ..

The mods can be very many ..

To make this truck more efficient, that is, pleasure ..

As I said very often ....

((The pleasure is in the mods))

Very nice...I like your mods alot....This truck I found is the 1/6 model,is that the same as your's?

I was thinking of going with a desert racer...Just not sure which route to go...[&o]I definatley like the looks of it,and would need to lower it...The tires are massive...lol
This thing put beside my 1/10 truck makes it look like a ant...But the rollcage on the inside is very nice for a scale look..

The motor is definatley puny..but do not see away to stuff a larger motor in it..Would love to be able to use the 4link suspension...

Who knows..will start taking it apart tommorrow...[>:]

You my friend are truely giffted, love your crawler...Yes this is a big truck and I hope to make it really nice,I need to find a radio for it.It appears to be 27 mghz, and I have a few...But the good thing is this was a free truck,so no matter whichway it goes,I think it will turn out cool...[sm=shades_smile.gif]

Lol yeah it is in good shape,no scratches...But I have come to a halt, and do not know which way to go..The wheels are so massive I canot lower it,and for the life of me I cannot figure how to get the shocks off without cutting...

I love the full rollcage,in and might just cut it out and put a seperate axle, and front subframe from another car in it...Was thinking of cutting the subframe away, and ucing the 4 link, well really a 2 link, for this purpose. But everytime I start I have to stop and think about it...

Ihave built a custom truck, and modifed it into a desert truck, made a full rollcage from scratch, and evencut the body to fit..

But this one has me stumped...lol..Here are some pics of my other truck..This is kindas on the line I want to go..

As far as the shocks, most new bright & tyco shocks have what looks like a rivet pushed thru
the shock then molded or pressed into the plastic, so it would have to be cut....
Not for sure though, going off memory here.[sm=confused.gif]

They do look alike...did some major modding cut up the frame removed shocks, and generally moved the chassis up higher.I had to cut the rear crossbar for the motor to clear..It is now starting to look like a desert truck, has alot of rear suspension travel..

Moved the front up and secured it with screws, the back will get the zip ty treatment..lolCannot use the shocks,or the wheels, but I am thinking maybe the traxx slash tires might fit,or maybe the losi highroller?,but I will definatley get some new shocks...

Texx glad you liked my other desert truck,it was a blast to build, first time I had ever tried any modding...This is my second attempt...Dont know what to do with these giant tires?

Here are some update pic's

Ok my friends she is nearing completion,Have raised the chassis up into the frame, mounted the shocks just like the real deal, cut the body so I could fir the shocks and my custom pushbar..

All that is left is for some tire's,and a remote...This truck is turning out pretty well, with the stock tires on it sits up in the wheel well..lol.I am hoping that the losi highroller tires will fit....[]

She is solidly mounted to the frame using long screws...Might find me a lightbar, and strip the stickers off and put some sponser sticker's on...

More pics..

Thnks texx,I beleive the highroller wheels will work, and appear to be the right size..It was not as diffuclt as I thought to mod this..And I am hoping to get some wheels for it...It has good suspension, and I was able to use the old shocks..and i have 4 extra if these fail..I have soldered a tamiya type of battery connector to the old battery plug in place, and will use a 7.2 battery on this..

I am hoping with smaller tires the speed should increase, hope not to much because this is a large model and would hate to crash it..lolIt had lights in it which I removed and placed in my other trucks headlights, really cool...
