Going to start posting some projects and info as a new member and figured I'd start with this interesting information I recently discovered...

So my current vehicle of choice for the winter/snow is the "Radioshack RC Mattracks Hummer" and I went to modify the rear diff (lock it with 'pink tack') and realized that the latest gen uses 'all metal' differential/flywheel gears (front and rear) as well as a 600 (can size,) Fan cooled motor. All previous variations of this truck (Ram/Raminator/Monster Patrol/Sector 7 1/6 scale & etc.) use all plastic gearing and a 540 size motor. (*So if you go to purchase this style chassis for a project, Be sure to look out for the latest gen which sports a black exterior with orange stickers and chrome wheels.) I will post some pictures below...

Yes, Ive seen most of your stuff and read most of your posts. Nice work texx and glad to meet you. The RS Hummer/mattracks platform is one of my favorites and is really nice once you work out a few factory flaws. Makes for a great basher, especially in the snow. We just lost all our snow over here due to rain but theres suppose to be another snow storm developing for New Years Eve. Can't wait! Look forward to talking more with you and everyone else. ttys.

Late post I know... Ive had one of these for a couple years....It came with plastic gears and a 550 can size motor.....Ive installed a Traxxas titan 550... a pair of 3300mah batteries...and it runs very well. Old motor burned up, but it has been ran a lot.. I know R.S. discontinued them...anyone know of a supplier stocking this model?

-Nice, I have the RS H2 Hummer 4WS, & 2 MTX F-350's.  I've only removed the bumpers
from the MTX F-350  I also got a Sector 7 Tundra that I removed the chassis extension
from (so it'll now be 1/10th scale).  I'm new here, just signed up this morning!!!

On the rear..charging port for onboard camara batteries, since they are mounted in body. Switch for camara power on-off...

Ive had this thing since 2008, It runs about 20 hours a week as I us it as a home security patrol vehicle with the camaras. Indoors I use an LCD monitor to drive the vehicle around. Its on its third motor. I run the Titan 550 12 turn, and its very fast. Battery wires and ESC to motor wiring, are all changed to high current 10 gauge wire, deans conectors, clean solder joints at all critical points. And thats my 10 minute improvised Camo paint job. Its a good project truck.

Messaged Pete on this but not sure if he is still around. Can anyone else chime in on this??

Hello, I saw your thread in regards to the Radio Shack Hummer truck. I also have one, which I believe is an older model. Recently I took it out and noticed only the front wheels had power to them. Opened it all up to find the metal? nuts in the plastic gear are broke/cracked? So I got to doing some searching but could not find replacement gears. I did however find this on ebay; http://www.ebay.com/itm/RadioShack-R...25.m3641.l6368
It appears to be the entire rear assembly . However it definitely looks different than mine is some ways. It has what appear to look like metal arms (that look like steering arms) and im not sure how my a-arms would mount to it. Do you think it would work for me? Maybe its just the updated assembly you are referring to and would be an upgrade from what I have? I appreciate ANY insight you could give me on this!

Below are some pics of my current setup;

It might be worth a shot to see if the gears work. looks like the one you linked to is a front end.

It did seem like a front end to me as well. Very odd- but it was in fact a rear section with the motor and a steering setup. I guess once could try to make the Hummer a rear steer type as well. I tried but it didnt go to well. I was able to use the gear needed and fix the 4wd on mine though. Just have extra parts and a motor now..

Hey I'm new to this sight but I grew up with rc trucks like the aftershock and tremor that were 4wd, 1300 fpm vehicles that could take a beating. I have been interested in getting my nephews an rc car like this but most the one I have bought for them are poorly made. Does anyone know of an rc company that makes these style RCS or if their is a place to buy the older radioshack rcs
