*Attention: Latest gen Radioshack Mattracks Truck info!

Going to start posting some projects and info as a new member and figured I'd start with this interesting information I recently discovered...

So my current vehicle of choice for the winter/snow is the "Radioshack RC Mattracks Hummer" and I went to modify the rear diff (lock it with 'pink tack') and realized that the latest gen uses 'all metal' differential/flywheel gears (front and rear) as well as a 600 (can size,) Fan cooled motor. All previous variations of this truck (Ram/Raminator/Monster Patrol/Sector 7 1/6 scale & etc.) use all plastic gearing and a 540 size motor. (*So if you go to purchase this style chassis for a project, Be sure to look out for the latest gen which sports a black exterior with orange stickers and chrome wheels.) I will post some pictures below...

Yes, Ive seen most of your stuff and read most of your posts. Nice work texx and glad to meet you. The RS Hummer/mattracks platform is one of my favorites and is really nice once you work out a few factory flaws. Makes for a great basher, especially in the snow. We just lost all our snow over here due to rain but theres suppose to be another snow storm developing for New Years Eve. Can't wait! Look forward to talking more with you and everyone else. ttys.

    HELLO Pete Magnum ...

I already have a HUMMER MATTRACK, radio shack .. Very interesting model ..

The mods that I have made are ...

    Two batteries in parallel,
    The differential locked,
    Remove the belly,
    Track-bar.
    Extention steering mod .
    Installation of a Jeep / body 1 / 10,
Installation of an antenna on spring.

The stock electronics, worked very well.

Late post I know... Ive had one of these for a couple years....It came with plastic gears and a 550 can size motor.....Ive installed a Traxxas titan 550... a pair of 3300mah batteries...and it runs very well. Old motor burned up, but it has been ran a lot.. I know R.S. discontinued them...anyone know of a supplier stocking this model?

    -Nice, I have the RS H2 Hummer 4WS, & 2 MTX F-350's.  I've only removed the bumpers
from the MTX F-350  I also got a Sector 7 Tundra that I removed the chassis extension
from (so it'll now be 1/10th scale).  I'm new here, just signed up this morning!!!

Ive had this thing since 2008, It runs about 20 hours a week as I us it as a home security patrol vehicle with the camaras. Indoors I use an LCD monitor to drive the vehicle around. Its on its third motor. I run the Titan 550 12 turn, and its very fast. Battery wires and ESC to motor wiring, are all changed to high current 10 gauge wire, deans conectors, clean solder joints at all critical points. And thats my 10 minute improvised Camo paint job. Its a good project truck.
