Default Something i made from broken rc toy

Hi all. wanted to share something that i made from broken and discarded rc toys that i found in my neighborhood. the body is a mustang. the chassi is from a hummer. I used some spare parts that i got from the local online selling site to get it to run. the msc and radio box is from a beat up grasshopper that will never run as its badly damaged. because i slapped it together i guess im going to call it the MUDSTANG. its cheesy i know but oh well. waiting for parts for my blackfoot and needed to pass the time. so what do you think?

From what I see, great job!
That DIY hybrid looks pretty god damn awesome, love the tamiya vintage servo controlled "ESC".
Once again, great job!

Well, people either look at performance toys (+400 bucks) or just renewing vintage toys like old tamiya, tyco etc.
I guess I wasnt careful enough and didnt look at picture 3 in detail, on picture 4 it kinda resembles a shock shaft (I think I need glasses haha).
Its unusual to see someone DIY assembling, fabricating and customizing broken toys and partially hobby grade equipment into one hybrid.
Altho I wouldnt do that kind of project myself, its interesting to look at someone who brings backs to life what others marked as trash.
Good luck with the project!

I always wanted to get the blackfoot, but never got it because of the parts availability. Great late '80 to early '90 car!

I see what you mean by they look like shock shafts. they are made from plastic tubes and some frame parts that i cut off the broken frame of the hummer chassi. the part that holds the top of the shocks and the part that holds the front shocks on is coat hanger. and thats also what i used to hold the mustang body on. ever when i look at it i kinda think who would do something like that but a lot of time makes me a little creative sometimes.

other people are paying me for the older stuff, which affords me new projects and I mod anything I like =P I really like the Maisto rock crawler platform for making 4x4 fungrade customs. Trail pounders with just enough power to have a chitload of fun.

A caterpillar crawler. that would be interesting to see. post some pic's when it's done i want to see how it comes out.
i have seen your you tube channel a few times and i like the tmnt van on the maisto crawler chassi. i also made a 6x6 from two maisto rock cralwers. i cut one in half and mounted it to the rear axle so the suspension would still work. there is some bugs i need to work out with mounting because the motor of the now middle axle is getting in the way but it's all a work in progress.
still a few things that need done with the mudstang but it still is running. when i get the suspension finished it will be able to function better and it needs a bigger motor because the toy hummer one is kinda slow.

Love the mudstang lol I’m not really new to the rc world we had lots of them growing up. But since I’ve gotten back into it 🤯 blows my mind. I have a few cheap ones n 1 not so cheap to me one. I started off with the Walmart specials so that I can practise n learn the controls better. well out of the 9 I have, I’ve broken 4, one I carved the piece I need out of wood with my dremel, it was a steering piece in my remote. One I’ve installed led lights on it. Got the led lights from some finger lights my kids got for Halloween, I have built 3 tracks in my yard from miscellaneous stuff laying around tore it all down n in the process of building 1 big track that goes around my whole yard. It’s soo much fun n I didn’t realize how much fun it is lol
