I dont like electro because of the nuclear power centres needed to charge the batteries, and then to think that the electro guys are clean, what a laugh.
As for electric being cleaner after use, also rubbish, do you really thing mud and grime knows if you are driving nitro or electro, NO, it just sticks to what ever it can.
Nitro is fun, so is the cleaning.
Electro is also fun and also so is the cleaning.
NUCLEAR POWER AINT FUN. IT DUCKS UP THE PLANET.

I think he means the brand(ex. Associated vs the no-name stuff from hong kong).
That was exactly my point. Brand name stuff vs. the HK stuff is hard to separate at times. Many of these products are manufactured in the same factories, they just get a different sticker put on them at the end of the line. Especially batteries.

This is sometimes true, however a good name brand will have generally have higher standards. I've bought plenty of low end products(anything from RC cars to large screen TVs) trying to save money. Most of the time they break not far down the road and I have to buy the higher end ones anyway. So I've gotten to the point of "why waste the money?".

Exactly, it's important to remember that the Chinese are capable of producing just as high a level of quality as any other country. The fact that they spoecialise in cheap, does not mean they are restricted to it. Expensive and cheap brands alike outsource much of their production to the Chinese, but they provide specific specs and tolerances, and that results in a cheaper or more expensive product in an analogue way.

Some things either work or they don't, and in these cases (batteries/chargers) etc, where quality (as long as it is up to a point) plays very little role, I have no problem using unbranded Chinese stuff, whether it has a sticker on it which I am familiar with or not.

so as far as the compairing apples to apples , a nitro truck (revo ) for instance , 450 $ a BRUSHLESS E MAXX , 650$ now dont even try to tell me a non brushless stock E MAXX is
even in the same catagory as a nitro truck, cause i have both, and thats not even a close compairision !! THEN you need some good lipo batteries to get the full potential out of that
brushless system 75 $ ea X 2 = 125 $ thats a bare minimum, then you need a charger , another hundred !! now your up to darn near nine hundred dollars !!
ok , a battery pack to run a nitro, 25$ a gallon of nitro 30$ for a total of around 500 $$ is this really compairing apples to apples ?? with a difference in 400 $ roughly ??????????

I think you forgot to factor in everytime you run out of nitro you will need to spend another $30 on a gallon and so on, so over time it all evens out.

that is true , the batteries dont last forever either though , the numbers might not be exact but the point is if you were to start fresh today with a nitro vs electric
electric would be quite a bit more for a compairable truck, doesnt even have to be a monster , some are closer to price , ( ei.... the savage flux and the savage x)
but i would still say electric is more cost to begin with ,by quite a bit ( 300 ) will buy a LOT of nitro !!!

Umm I think the term "Cleaner" in this sense means that the Electric RC are cleaner for the environment. Nitro RCs put out exhaust emissions similar to 1:1 cars. And if you happen to spill a large amount of fuel it could be harmful to the soil and plants... in that area.

But ooh wait... I'm pretty sure it's not in keeping with environmental standards to just toss those LiPo and NiHM batteries in the old garbage when they go bad.

Just run what you know and enjoy the hobby!

IMO i love them both. nitro is more satisfying for me. to say that you did that. like got a hybrid racingt-maxx that didnt run very well. so i got a new engne, broke it in, and tuned it. and now it flys. to me it very pleasing too say that i got that running and that it'll do 40+ with a single speed tranny

my experience has been different,in an electric you would get the same performance as seen anywhere else provided you have the right batt. For example My first car was a pede xl5 it ran out of the box just as shown in the company vids on youtube or anyone who has pede vxl can wheelie and hit 65mph+ just as told or if the hpi vid shows that the savage flux hp does a standing backflip then every dam flux does a double backflip with the correct batt.,but the second 1;the savage xl did run fast and topple over as expected but it didn't wheelie at all while the HPI vid shows it doing wheelies at the begining,it might depend on my engine age fuel or whatever but some people say that their XL wheelied right out of the box while mine doesn't even after 1.5 gallon. It might wheelie afterwards but its just annoying.Well this was my view, but on seeing this in a more genralised form if someone doesn't wanna go deep in to the working, construction and engineering of his power plant then electric suits him right,he just has to get the correct batteries plug 'em and lit it rip.On the other hand when someone is keen to know about the working, construction and engineering of his powerplant then nitro is just the thing for him, once he is through with it(power plant) tuning is you know just as easy as walking, once he gets the hang of the tuning he just figures it out just by listening to it.
But if one likes both;the electric and the nitro, then the other factors influence his choise like cost/availability of fuel, place where he plans to run the model and many other factors.

well personally the only difference i think is what ur into, i own an traxxas t-maxx 3.3 nitro truck and i have had it for year and its fast and fun but like, any hobby grade rc still very dangous, especially when u have kids around like me, i have an 2 year old girl and an 5 year old son. and with the smell of the nitro fuel and the kids around when i run it i have to be very carefull. just recently i purchased an traxxas stampede 2wd electric for x-mas for my son, i did take it out and test it to make sure everything worked before we wrapped it up, and personally i liked the speed and run time. also the fact that there was on nasty nitro smell, it was just put ur batteries in and go. the only thing i found wrong with it was the body post was made outta weak plastic, and as rough as my son is on stuff at his age, my only concern is that eventually that he flips it hard enough they will break, but as i saw there are aluminium replacements. i think no matter if u pefer eletric or nitro either way u are going to put an lot of money into ur rc either way u go.

you're right about what u said indianrc, u do have some valid points about the location and factors and cost of where ppl live, for example i live in ohio in the states and the closet hobby shop is like 100 miles away from me. when i need replacement parts i have to order them online. some parts for my nitro can be quite expensive.

Lipo packs are not harmful to the environment...

http://www.rccoh.com/rc.how-to/lipo.....disposal.html

Nimh packs on the other hand must be disposed of professionally.
