3.3 air leak
Alright guys let me start by saying hi my name is hunter. Lol I'm new to the site but I have 5 years in the hobby under my belt. I have an engine that is giving me some problems. At first I wouldn't start. So I pulled it of the truck and put it on my engine stand where I began fiddling with it. I was geting both good fuel and air but still no start. Glow igniter was charged full and checked the plug. Finally it started after some crazy adjustments on the carb. It would idle roughly and the die. Still tinkering with it I noticed a trail of oily residue from behind the flywheel where it had slung out. I tore it down to find that it was fuel and the Bering was down allowing the crankshaft to have some play in it. My thought was that if fuel can escape then air can enter. An air leak would exsplain all the symptoms. What do you guys think? Could that bad berring cause and air leak. The engine has Ben rebuilt and the crankshaft was removed of that helps any. If it is would y'all recommend replacing the berring or buying a new case? All help is apriciated guys thanks

I doubt it needs a new case but it definitely needs a new bearing. I'd replace both bearings. Also Buku makes a cap for the front bearing. I don't know much about it but people seem to like it and it will help keep dirt out of the from bearing. May be worth looking into.
