My take on a Traxxas 1/5 build!
To start this off let me say that the Summit Transmission with the Leading Edge Machine Dog Carrier is the way to go to make a brushless 1/5 scale that will last and do more for your off-road pleasure.
So that being said picking parts that make up a great 1/5 scale that is tough and user friendly is what I would stat with to make the ultimate brushless Off-Road machine. So lets start with a body that uses no pins or parts that can be lost while playing out doors just as the E-Maxx does. I went with the 1/6 scale Nylint Scorpion MK1. It is a hard body that has spring loaded levers that hold the rear of the chassis in 2 places in back so it is very strong and stable in a crash.
Next would be the servos to turn the 1/5 scale beadlock rims mounted to the 40 series Mudslingers that this buggy will use. I'm going with a Brushless motored servo that makes monster torque 412 oz on 7.4 volts and to power that I will use the Max 8 esc.
So now that I have a Titanium servo that is water proof and a ESC that makes big power and is also water proof I think it's time to cover the Toyota 1/5 scale axles that RC4WD has. They are huge and very scale. It will set this build apart from anything that is currently out.
So lets get into this build and see what the ultimate brushless 5th scale looks like.

Well after playing with the Kyosho Twin Force axles I'm going with the Ultimate 1/5 Toyota axles They just look the part. So I pulled 513.00 from my bank and there on the way.
The other reason I went with these axles is because I can't find a build with these axles. I used Google and nothing. So it will be fun to show off these axles that have been discontinued and that will make this not only rare but when there gone no one will be able to do any builds with them.
I plan on doing a 4 link on these axles and the steering servo mounted to the axle also. I will paint the hole under carriage olive green so nothing should stand out when it's done.

So looking at these new axles I would stay away from them! The diffs are not even 1/8 scale standards! It only is the size of a 1/8 scale diff but only one set of spider gears in the diff-carrier!
This is not a well thought out set up at all! Her is the worst of it. there are no replacement parts when it breaks!
((((((((((((((((Ihave never seen a 1/5 scale diff-carrier this small or with only one set of spider gears!))))))))))))))))))))

So after a good look at these axles I sent them back to RC4WD. They just are not built well to take any kind of power So I'm going to use the Kyosho axles and up grade them when Super Shafty has the rear lock out ready in a month or so. So that said I made some shock mounts for the rear and played around with it so you can see some different shots of what the wheelbase and the links look like also.
