Default Engine upgrade for T-maxx

I have a T-maxx with a TRX 2.5 engine in it. I'm looking at putting a bigger engine in it (> .15?). Does anyone have recommendations on an engine that is more powerful than the TRX 2.5 and will fit in the T-maxx chassis without a lot of upgrades?

Thank you.

yea with a .26 you will need to upgrade much more other stuff.

go with an OS .18, preferably a TM or maybe CV-r series

Thanks for all the advice.

Which one of these OS engines would be best?

Here's the page at Tower Hobbies: [link=http://www.towerhobbies.com/listings/cat-cat-g.html]http://www.towerhobbies.com/listings/cat-cat-g.html[/link]

Is that the best place to buy an engine? cheapest?

Are these engines that OS makes easier to tune than the TRX 2.5?

My TRX 2.5 never seems to run correctly and I'm constantly tuning it or playing with the needles on it.

Will this engine drop right in the T-maxx?

NO. IT WONT. it's a side exhaust engine. you'd need a different clutch nut, and a new pipe and header.

Tower shipping is 7.99 unless you spend 150.
May be you should mind your own business.

I would buy you engine but I need a different carb than you have. Also, I need a lot of other parts from there which puts me over 150 so I get the discount. But thanks anyway.

What is the correct way to break in the OS .18 CV-RX engine? Same as the TRX 2.5 as stated in the Traxxas manual? What percent nitro should I use with this engine?

I've had a Sirio TX .18 in my MAXX for about 4 months ( 1 gallon ) and it has great low end and top speed. It's a little pricey ( about $190 from tower ) but WELL worth it. It holds it's tune very well for hours on end and it responds well to adjustments. I used it with a Golden Horizons "tuned" pipe and the engine performed well, but with the Suggested pipe from sirio ( Part no. LXDVM2 from tower - $41 ) The engine absolutely rips!!!!! It does wheelies in the wet grass along side my house. Its also a drop in engine and it only took me about 1 hour to install it on the TRX2.5 motor mount, install the EZ start2, and put it in the chassis. It's a drop in engine that requires no modification and I'm extremely pleased with its performance. I reccomend this engine to anybody who asks about a good one for the TMAXX.

Just my opinion

I Urge you to go with the OS 18tm, perfect wheelie machine drops in on stck mount comes with a new larger pipe to fit stock t-maxx header, I've had zero probalems with this motor other than keeping the front wheels down. don't mess around, I couldn't be happier. I Have a stock t-maxx and this one the stocker just sits around
