Default thinkin about gettin an S-maxx...

is 4wd really worth the extra 80 bucks, i want a tmaxx but i can save some cash by just getting the smaxx, but i was wondering if having 4wd instead of 2wd is really a big difference

you can always take out and reinstall the front diff with the t-maxx, just buy the S-maxx tires and rims

I agree you can alway up grade to 4wd. I will get a S-maxx after I get my buggy. I want a 2wd MT with a big motor. Just for bastin around. my jato does well but ground clearance some times would be nice. i heard that you can get a S-maxx for 300.00

For bashing, it is neccisary IMO. Its a lot more fun. Get the s-maxx, if you don't like it, spend 30 bucks on a front diff and drive shafts off of ebay. Its all personal prefrence.

If you like easy wheelies, but lots of flipping, then 2WD is good for you.

I personally would buy the S-Maxx and get the 4WD upgrade. The 2-Speed transmission really doesnt do a whole lot, its only good for high speed jumps & such.

Good luck and welcome to ur newest addiction if u dont already have a nitro R/C!

if i had it to do over i would get the s-maxx..........then install the front diff. you get the ssame truck, with better tires, better wheels, and a way cooler body, all for fifty to eighty bucks cheaper.

i would also get the smaxx. you'll find that 4wd really helps you control the truck in dirt and i wouldn't bash without it, but the smaxx is a cooler truck for the money and the upgrade is cheap. you won't have to spend money on a foc either.

Like was stated if you plan on going off road you will deff need 4wd. I droped the gears in my front diff and I could no steer it at all. It would bounch where it wanted to go. Plus with a bigblock .26 in mine it would just light up the rears. Very hard to have any fun unless you like doing circles.

you can make the s-maxx a very good racer as well, turn it into a truggy and lower it about 2 inches so the ground clearane sits about 1.5 inches from ground, then get some 40's crimefighters and youll be racing with the revos. some other things are need but you can get it to perform like a revo if you wanted.

I would get it off Towerhobbies myselfe. I also am looking at the S MAXX and with gas, air filter oil, afterrun oil, battery and charger you can get it out the door for 340$ with the 30$ rebate.[X(]
