Thanks for the help. I was thinkin about using the liftime engine replacment plan through traxxas for 130 plus s/h. Or could someone help give me a better suggestion. Also would you suggest upgrading anything else? I already have MIP cvd's.

The tranny will hold up for some time...the big difference is the brakes! Ever do a stoppie with a 2.5? Me neither! You can with the newer tranny/brake combo. It's also a smoother tranny due to the slipper clutch. Just note that people are selling them on eaby out of a new 3.3 T-Maxx as drop ins for the 2.5 , they're NOT! the half-shafts are different, but can easily be replaced.
