Default WHICH ONE IS BETTER??????????

I have a t-maxx 2.5r with 2 speed trans and reverse and a sportmaxx 2.5 with a single speed forward only trans. I'm thinking about swapping the sportmaxx trans into the t-maxx, would this be a more powerful setup with the 2.5r motor?
Any takers on this one???????????????????

Check the Traxxas web site and compare the two transmissions. Top speed will be determined by the final gear ratio, not how many speeds the tranny is. Of course there are other factors that come into play. For example, if the single speed is geared low you will have great accelaration but poor top end (good for a short, complicated track). A tranny thats geared tall will have poor take off and a good top speed. And of course how low or high it's geared will determine to what extreme it performs. That's why a tranny with multiple gears is good for longer tracks. It will have good acceleration and a higher top speed since the final drive ratio changes as it shifts. So, if you're just bashing around the 2 speed will probably be better. If you're going to race short track all the time a, properly geared single speed will be an advantage.
You need to determine what you want the truck to do and decide from there how you want to go.
