larger tank for my revo, anyone try this tank?
so i won a trinity spyder fuel tank off of ebay for a great deal. I have the tekno rx/batt/tank conversion and I was able to squeeze this into my revo. Im not sure if i mounted it the best way, and i was wondering if anyone sees some potential problems with this install, or if anyone has tried this tank in their revos..
now i just have to wait to get my picco .26 back from ofna and ill be all set! Im stoked to try out this new tank at the track, ive been going through fuel like crazy with the big block, and a bigger tank is just what i needed
thanks for looking, this is my first post on here...
hope those images work

i dont know why, but i like the looks of it. You shouldnt have an problems with it, as long as its secure enough that it doesnt fall off. you should be ok

Unless you can post some better, closer pics of how you mounted it I think it looks great. You have a nice revo there. I'm sure the bigger tank will help with picco run times.

RE: larger tank for my revo, anyone try this tank?
thanks for the compliments on my ride...ive done a BUNCH of mods to it, and ive only had this revo since about 2 months ago.
It was a revo 3.3 when i got it, now its basically a revo with an extended chassis, and not much else on it is stock...
heres what ive done that I can remember
RPM a arms
RPM axle carriers
ball bearing throttle arm
tekno wing mount
tekno throttle servo mount
tekno battery/rx/tank conversion
traxxas teflon shocks
badhorsie shock socks
trinity spyder fuel tank
pro-line wing
pro-line wabash wheels
pro-line 23mm hex adapters
pro-line bowties 40 series
FOC conversion
Center differential
rear brake
motorsaver air filter
black cvec big block exhaust
jdcarbon CF pushrods and turnbuckles
JDcarbon CF hingepins soon
RB tm black bb header
Ofna Picco .26 max
pro-line single servo arm
hitec single steering servo
Spektrum DX2 radio and receiver
HPI Hellfire body
thats all i can think of at the moment..i figured id write that all out so i have it saved somewhere cause people tend to ask what ive done to it alot.
more upgrades coming soon!

thats what its suppose to look like, good look ride you have there. i set some revo's up with that same tank but with o.s. .12 tz's its a very light setup and crazy runtimes 15 minutes or better depending on tune.

yeah..well actually, its 170cc i think
should be perfect for the picco...i didnt want a 250cc tank because thats way too much weight..will mess up the handling..but this is just about perfect

Looks good dude, can't wait to see how long a tank lasts with the Picco. Maybe next weekend we can get together and run at CE's.

RE: larger tank for my revo, anyone try this tank?
will do!
by the way, i talked to OFNA yesterday, and my picco has had the whole case replaced and the front bearing also, its already on its way back to me, so I should get it back early next week! Talk about great customer service, the turnaround time was about ONE WEEK from having the motor in my hands to getting the motor BACK in my truck! Im very happy with them, also they checked out the rest of the motor and made sure no damage was done to the piston or sleeve, and they are sending a new carb tightening screw assembly because I tore the o-ring on my old one which i sent in with the engine. Im excited, cant wait to try out my (basically new) picco!
ill have pics at the beginning of next week...im hoping i dont get any leaning issues with the trinity tank setup.

RE: larger tank for my revo, anyone try this tank?
sucks that the engine didnt get here on monday, definitely isnt coming today, maybe ill get lucky tomorrow..should be here by then.
I have a ported 2.5 to play around with in my revo until then. Just replaced the carb and can see that its gonna run great now that its been changed.
With this huge tank and the little 2.5, a tank full lasts a whole day at the track!

You know what you could do, if you dont care about looks temorarily while you're racing or whatever, you can find some holes on the bottom of the chassis and use zipties to hold it down temporarily or if you want a more permanent look with those same holes, you can pick up some brackets at ur lhs and maybe customize them to suite you (color them light blue) and find screws that would fit that braket and you would be looking good. I think the blue bracket idea is what i would I would do in the long run, but untill then, possibly excercise the ziptie idea in ur head. l8r hope this helps

Hi. I have the tank installed but it is very exposed (no cover below). I'm not sure that it is a good idea? I'm racing yes.

Thanks Insaneuswa! I found a pic of the truck and the tank also has no pretection below. Maybe it's not such a big issue. I have the tank installed and was busy with RX and RPM GT box yesterday. I should maybe try as is before spending money on the Tekno kit...

RE: larger tank for my revo, anyone try this tank?
hey look in my gallery i have a revo with a picco 26 and that same tank i love it. it get about 15-20 min of run time. but it does get a little bit of lean out at the end of the tank. i think that is because the tank has no baffels in it so the fuel sloshes around alot. but i really like this set up i will try to post some pics of it from the side so that you can see the way that i mounted mine. the only thing that i dont like about it is that when it is full the truck is not very balanced. but for the most part i cant complain.
