Traxxas has recommended it for years. It does not cause corrosion. it is not a lubricant ,it is a water displacer. The name means Water Displacement formula number 40.
It will keep things from rusting such as your bearings, crankshaft, wrist pin, and wrist PIN clip. It will also protect screws ,bearings and other hardware on your truck but it sure attracks dust. Some say the dust comes off easier but I am not so sure about that.
I use Marvel Mystery Oil as an after run lube myself and I have for well over 30 years.
Mobile One Synthetic is also extremely good and is the best common lube for your OWB.

Lots of people use it and swear by it, Traxxas says to use it..... If it makes you nervous get some after run oil or marvel mystery oil. Heck I use PB blaster when nothing else is close by.

I am with Everydayflyer on this. I don't think it will cause corrosion.

Hey Everydayflyer, I just bought a bottle of Marvel Mystery Oil to use as afterrun oil. It's a lot cheaper than the 1oz bottles from the hobby shop. Have you used it to lube the OWB before? I know the instructions say Mobile One is best, but they also say Marvel can be used.

I use Break-Free CLP manufactured by Break - Free Inc. to lube my OWB.I use it to lube all my more critical items. It is available at better Firearms / Sporting Goods stores about $12 for a 12 oz. spray can.
I tried MMO on my Heli OWBs years ago and it worked but not for nearly as long as Break-Free CLP.
