My Revo 2.5R has been out of commission for maybe a year and so have I. I stripped a gear in it a ways back( the flanged one at the bottom connecting to the metal one) and now all I see is 3.3 stuff(which I didn't even know about). So if this is a dumb question sorry, but are the 2.5r and 3.3 trannys the same? Cus I'm thinking of just getting a whole new tranny I noticed the 3.3 is grey. I also have a 2.5 T-Maxx and was wondering if the 3.3 tranny will drop into that too. I know the 3.3 chassis is a little longer and I'm only guessing that the shafts are longer and the tranny is pretty much the same. I'm also getting the 3.3 engine for my Revo and was wondering if it would cause any issues.

the trannys are exactly the same only difference is the 3.3 tranny case has a spot on the outside to add the rear brake

The grey trannys are for the t-maxx's and the t-maxx trannys are not the same but the revo 3.3 tranny will drop in a revo 2.5, and the revo 3.3 will drop in the revo 2.5 to, you will not have any problems putting the 3.3 in it, the 3.3 revo is extended to help in handling and to keep the front end down
