Want a parking lot rock star Revo. Need advise
Hello, have a 2.5 Revo and I want this to handle the street very well. Ordered a big block conversion kit because the 2.5 wasn't cutting it, also it's very tipsy on the corners.
What do I need to do or buy to make this thing handle the turns and also what size and make of engine do you recommend? I would like to hit about 60mph, not 100mph.
I just bought the Revo used so I am not real up to speed how to make the adjustments needed to the suspension so specifics would be great.. Thanks

If you set the suspension to its lowest setting and give it some negative camber on all wheels It will help drastically.

LRP 28 Spec 3 is a real screamer on top end.... 20/36 wide ratio and not much is going to be able to run with ya. These LRP Spec 3's make some serious RPM"s

put the p2 rockers, use 70 weight shock oil, get 23mm road rages on velocity wheels because they have the wider offset.......close the shock adjust ring all the way...with this simple setup you'll have a hard time flipping it even at full speed....

Good luck...in the brand-new RCCA, they had a "Fastest RC Cars/Trucks" contest.
The fastest MT was a heavily modified Savage @ 61mph. It was slammed SUPER low...had a custom body...tons of modifications, and that's all they got out of it.
A revo's lighter, but I think 60 isn't gonna happen...unless you drop TONS of $$ into it.

Yeah even 60 mph for a MT is a lot of speed. The best thing you could do is lighten that thing up as much as possible. Slam it to the ground give it some camber and some road tire would help a bit to. The off road tires dont handle as good as some on road tires if they even make them for the revo. Put some 60 or 70 weight oil in the shocks get some threaded shock bodies and then you can start to make the adjustments from there. I'm sure your going to have to upgrade the drivetrain since your going with a BB.
60 MPH is a ton of speed for a MT. You will have to drop a ton of money to make it go that fast. Now nothing is impossible but it does take more money to make it possible. Good luck

I know it is not a revo, but has anyone verified Traxxas claims of a 70 mph Jato???? I realize this is not a "real" MT but I think 60 may be possible with the right engine and gearing. It may not accelerat very quick, but you should be able to get some top end out of it.

70 for a 3.3 jato is very atainable, they claim 65 in stock, if you switch up the gearing i think it could easily hit 70

Thats fast.
There was a discussion on the Traxxas forums about using larger wheels and longer gearing to get it as fast as possible.
Personally I have strapped a GPS to my 3.3 and got it to read at 37mph. I know there were a few issues with it at the time and it wasn't in anyway set up to go as fast as it could. But considering that already has the longer gear set in it, your going to have to put more than a few parts into a Revo to get it to hit 60mph.

You guys crack me up, 84 mph out of a jato with a collari 30 BAHAHA. A guy on SC called maximus is heavy into speed and stuff, he has all of the stuff set up in his revo to go fast and his best run is 48 MPH. You can hit around 50 with an LRP z-28 spec 3 with a stock-ish revo and with some weight reductions you could hit 55. A jato 3.3 doesn't go 65 MPH stock like some guy said before, it is what traxxas want you to believe.

UNLESS U HAVE video Proof ....u dont have a leg to stand on buddy....not a single 1...i kno Maximus..and he runns beside a jato with a Sirio .23 in it...so there is NO WAY that a jato is doing 70mph with a DOG of a motor like a collari.30....PSH....kiddies thinking they are cool saying i saw some 1 do 84mph...HAH....dont think so.

RE: Want a parking lot rock star Revo. Need advise
Okay, I said I liked to hit 60 mph with the BB in because the box said 40mph+ stock, so I used that as a base because it is too slow for me. What I am gathering is the stock 2.5 Revo isn't even close to 40mph? More like 25mph? Let me ask this, the other day when I was at the hobby store discussing my plans over with one of their staff members. He told me not to go with the BB just up-grade to the 3.3, he said it's a huge difference between the 2.5 and the 3.3.. So taking what Traxxas says on the box for speed, can someone give me a more accurate estimate on speed? 2.5 Revo gos approx. ??? and 3.3 Revo gos ????? Thanks

well maximus runs his revo with a P&P'd SH .28 P6 (hell of an engine stock and INSANE modded I'm talking it will flip a 15 lb savage or lst2 on it's lid when u let off the throttle and nail it when going full speed) and his hit 48 MPH. You would probably hit around 40 with the 3.3 assuming everything is tuned right and all that but it is EXTREMELY unlikely with any engine you will hit 60 MPH due to allot if things.

actually you might be better off if you do get a bb to get a .21 with alot of top end go with some 40 series road rage or equivalent tires and gear up a little maybe a couple teeth and use the 36 tooth spur with like a 16 tooth CB and the wide ratio 2 speed youll be able to fly because unlike some people may be lead to believe a bigger engine isnt whats making the speed all that is is the torque the revs is what makes speed and since the little .15 can move these around with "some" authority a .21 WILL have the torque you need and the high end to scream

Okay if it would probably hit 40 with the 3.3, what do you think realistically does it hit with the 2.5?
