Default RE: new engine

there are 3 i can think of right. now

the trx 3.3, strait drop in.

os .18 tm, doesnt even need a new engine mount, strait drop in.

RB Creations TM523 (.23), comes in a kit with an engine mount, exhaust header, and exhaust pipe.

i have the RB (the O.S .18 wasent big enough for me and i already had the 3.3) i was going to go a sirio .27 but i would have had to buy an engine mount, header and an exhaust pipe, and my LHS doesnt stock the picco .26.

i would be inclined to go the O.S .18 or the rRBtm523 over the 3.3 though.

it was $540 Australian, so at a guess about $220-$250 U.S

i have the center diff in and it still wheelies, wont flip over anymore because the center diff oil has thinned up a little but it pulls the front wheels off the ground.

NEVER drive it on road with a center diff in, the front tired just balloon up and steers in random directions without warning, i will be posting a video up of it soon, it's just loading onto google video now, it's running that rich that theres a visible line of smoke comeing out of the stinger at idle and it still balloons the front wheels like crazy, this engine is faster then the picco .26 easily (i have driven against my grandfathers truck that has a picco in it).

The TM323 is another. The TM523's little brother. Slightly cheaper a little less power than the TM523.

I am currently running the engine in right now so I can't comment on performance. The engine is very snappy though. I has a nice crisp throttle response.

The OS18TM is a true "drop in," using your original mount et al. It has plenty of wheely power, without being over powerring, and is a great engine to tune. It is an easy engine to learn throttle control with, and thus start using tighter slipper settings if you wish.....

You can use a Picco .26 for raw power but you have to buy one of their engine mounts.

if you just want more power than the 2.5, go with the tm... it's affordable and it's straight drop in.... you will not be dissapointed... and if you want even more top end speed...or want it not to wheelie too much, just change the spur gear to a 36 or 34... you'll like that for sure. i have a tm on my revo and another on my tmaxx.. i'm very happy with the performance.... and never loses it's tune!!!
