revo 2.5 vs 3.3 ?
Is there a post anywhere here that goes into detail about the diff. between the 2? Looks like the 2.5 is almost 1/2 lb. lighter than the 3.3 ?
If you drop weight off of the 2.5 could it be a better raceing truck than the 3.3?
any ideas would be most appreciated.

the only difference is that the 3.3 has a bigger engine and is a longer chassis so 3.3 is better

Those are the two biggest differences but not the only ones. There is also the ability to have a center differential and the opti-drive has a built-in failsafe. There are several other differences but the point is kinda moot as you cannot buy a 2.5 new anymore unless you luck into old stock somewhere as they are discontinued.

All that aside, if you're after a new truck then the 3.3 is a better option than the 2.5, if indeed you can find one as DaveG55 has already said.

RE: revo 2.5 vs 3.3 ?
thanks for the help that gets me pointing towards a revo 3.3 with a few more questions/ideas?
I had to replace gears a bunch in the old 1.5 tmaxx starting set-up, plus carrying the weight of an electric motor, leads me to think about a starter box,or pull start (after break-in)
what are people who race using?
I will probably get 2 revos (one for me one for my son) what would be the best spare parts to stock the field box with first? ie. common breakage parts.
thanks, Chas

well get some A arms, those usually break on mine. ive had some parts come apart on my shocks too, that just happened yesterday. umm...spur gears...ive went thru plenty of rims (most of them not mine) other then that just find out urself, see what breaks most and get more spares

Yes get RPM a-arms. they have a lifetime warranty. and get a roto start instead of a starter box, get some backup PLASTIC spur gears get a few glow plugs and like tactical said see what else you break alot

Top 3 needed most:
1. Spur gears
2. glow plugs
3. One way bearings.
As for a starting system, get a roto start. It weighs lees then an e-z start and is more reliable. Pull start are good also once you get used to it. Roto start is less of a hassel tho.
Starter boxes are a lot of money and are heavy, not something you want to carry around. Not to mention you will need to buy a 40mm flywheel for it to work. So thats about $160 for a starter system when a roto-start system costs around $35.
