Imo Byrons, O'Donnell's and Sidewinder are the best fuels on the market from my experience. Some other fuels that I have heard good from are Nitrotane and Rocket Science[8D]

yeah, when I was breaking in my new OS .18tz, it wouldn't get over 150* with the cooling head covered in foil. that was the first cycle, after that I leaned it out a bit.
EDIT: I forgot to say that that was with odonell. but I hear that byrons and sidewinder are also good.but I personally am not running anything but Odonell 20% race blend.

RE: nitro fuel byron and o donnells
I just got home from running my truck. I just opened a jug of Traxxas 20% and have run about half a dozen tanks of it. Last time out was when I first tried it, and my truck ran like crap, but I had exhaust leak issues and put it down to that.
Tonight the exhaust was fixed and the truck still ran like crap. I put in a tank of my buddies fuel, Blue Thunder Race Blend, and my truck has never ran that good. Pulling power wheelies, had to tighten the slipper from the setting that was perfect on every other fuel I ever ran, ran smoother, no glow plug issues. Man I was impressed. I ran his fuel all night.
Then I read his jug.
30%...... hhhmmm....... I know what I'm buying this weekend. Any non-Traxxas 30% fuel I can find at my LHS.

Yep^^^^^^^^ Traxxas has so much oil that it actually chokes your engine and completely kills performance, and its not like the added oil is helping out at all Definitely try some Byrons fuel man, Blue Thunder isnt the best but its better than Traxxas I guess

blue thunder is really crappy fuel, and if you run your engine a little too lean it will turn the internals blue, below is a picture of an OS .12tz that was run a little too lean on blue thunder.

yea...i heard that o donnell makes your engine run up to 60 degrees cooler. just make sure you get race blend cuz the rtr has way too much oil

All of the shops in my area hate Blue Thunder, one carried only Blue Thunder and it went out of business. Apparently, the fuel caused many peoples engines to blow up. I guess there is some component that destroys your engine quicker if you run a bit lean[]

I use O'donnell RTR, and i am very happy with it. I'm not afraid of engine damage, and i run it lean enough for good performance. I have to run it pretty lean anyway, (i live at 5000 feet in somewhat of a desert) and i know that the oil has me covered. Race blend would probably work just as well though.
traxxas fuel is good for your traxxas engine if you want to be covered by their warranty (i'm speculating) but i don't think it is terrific. The fuel could be much better.

O'donalds fuel is the best i tried so far, i think O'donalds and bryons are almost neck and neck on my scale, either or for me, what ever is in stock at the time

RE: nitro fuel byron and o donnells
the only downside to byrons is the exhaust fumes sting my eyes and are quite volatile >.< but thats the price you pay for awesome gas and nice speed

RE: nitro fuel byron and o donnells
Well yeah, I find the O'Donnell's has the most volatile smell. After that comes Byron's but keep in mind that these are performance blended fuels, no one cares how they smell or feel as long as your car is running well[8D]

well if u really hate the smell then there are fuel additives that make em smell fruity but imo that just encourages people to sniff nitomethane

RE: nitro fuel byron and o donnells
I put Parma nitro-scent in my fuel, it makes it smell pretty good, I try to avoid the smell, but it makes it not sting or smell so bad. and so far, I haven't noticed any difference in performance.
