RE: Basher truck?
Savage or MGT were the toughest bashers in an rc mag. MGT edged the savage out because they said it was easier to work on but both trucks were tough as heck.

Do you know anything about the team losi 8ight -T? I like the looks of it and may look into purchasing it if I hear good things about it?

I didn't know how much they were. I thought they were just as much as a revo but I was wrong, Guess I won't be buying a 8ight-T soon. $750.00 is a bit out of my price range lol... If I only had the money I would buy it in a heart beat. Looks like a killer race truck.

Savage is what I thought. I drive a S-maxx right now but the technology is quite outdated even though traxxas still makes one heck of a truck. I think I will go with a savage . What savage is the best for bashing?

RE: Basher truck?
this is a little odd to me....
is a good basher a truck with decent strength chassis, but has sloppy steering and diffs that are easily mangled? also a pain to work on?
i don't think so. so im a little confused about the savage winning the poll.
a good basher should be strong all around. strong chassis, minimal slop in parts, strong diffs, easy to work on,, etc. right?
correct me if im wrong.

with as few upgrades you can eliminate the so called shortcomings of the savage,as far as being a pain to work on,nah, its only a pain if you have no experience/skill,

RE: Basher truck?
i have had a mgt, lst2, a maxx, and known a friend with a savage. the savage doesn't compare, in any way. something being easy or hard to work on has nothing to do with skill, whatsoever.
maybe this will make it easier to understand.

which would you rather replace a part on?

RE: Basher truck?
rather not replace a part on any of them, but stuff happens, all i was trying to get across is the savage is a brutally tough truck,i cant/wont bad mouth the MGT,dont own one,but i do have one on the way so i can form a fair opinion/comparision.....yes it looks very easy to work on,but best basher is not decided on the bench, its decided in the field IMHO

RE: Basher truck?
^^Agree. I have a revo 3.3 myself and i know the MGT and LST2 are some of the best trucks on the market but savage?as soon as you buy it they'll make an updated version [&:] my friend CAN never get his savage to run, while im doing doughnuts and jumping ten feet in the air hes about to go buy a new servo(which i have yet to do) im sorry but ill always stand behind the revo and id save up to buy it, just a great truck.

RE: Basher truck?
i am not saying savage because its my only truck, also have t-maxx,revo,and a warhead, the savy is not the fastest, not the best handling, but will take more punishment than the others, and when the MGT gets here i will take it out and thrash it till i tear some thing up!!!!!who knows the MGT may turn out to be a great basher, but its got some pretty stiff competition sitting on the shelf.....

RE: Basher truck?
For bashing I wouldnt consider anything else other than a Savage. However, my next choices after that would be LST2 and MGT[8D] And unlike some of you people who dont own the Savage, speaking from personal experience the Savage is incredible easy to work on. Remove 4 screws and loosen 4 others, and you have the frame separated from the other two sides of the truck. Unlike some trucks that you need to unscrew 10-20 screws just to remove the chassis for maintenance. It takes me 15 min to remove every part thats screwed onto the chassis from the other parts of my truck, if thats hard to work on then Also, with shimmed/blocked diffs, they Savage will rarely shred them, I have 3 gallons on my diffs running an STS .30 now and they are holding up very well[8D] I love it[sm=thumbup.gif]
