Default Gearing for MM4600 in Stampede on 12 cells?

I'm planning on getting a Mamba max for christmas. What gearing should I run for a MM4600 on 12 cells? I want it as cool as possible.

Use the lowest gear ratio that will fit in the chassis and still mesh.

would 14/90 be good? Or should I try 12/90? I don't have a mm yet. I think I'm getting a mamba and want the 4600.

What upgrades would I need to do? I know about differentials/idler. Could I just upgrade transmisson for 6 cells. But what would I do for 12?

I'd use 12x90 for the coolest set-up. It sounds like you got it covered for 6 cells with the gears, but 12 cells in a pede is going to be pretty heavy. Using high voltage with the 4600 is a fast set-up and can be done real easy with a lighter lipo battery. A 3S and 4600 is real fast.

Maybe you are going for high speed runs? [X(] If so then 4S or 12 cells and taller gears would be the ticket. Even going to a 5700 would do good for high speed.

I don't need super speed but good speed. This is my super speed machine http://cenracing.com/cars/ct5/ct5.html

So I just got an idea.....The Velineon motor seems to run VERY cool. So, what if I took the Mamba max ESC and the VXL motor and ran 12 cells?

I think that would work good, and be a bit slower than the 4600.

It would cost $210 for the esc and motor. So how hot should this get with 20/87 gearing?
