ths losi and cen rtr's have nice radios, traxxas on onfa/jammin don't

Well, the reason why traxxas doesn't is because they don't want to have to raise their prices...

Traxxas just needs to give the TQ3 a face lift, make it rechargable, make it 2.4Ghz, maybe have the color match the car body scheme, and also have servo controlling abilities similar to the DX2. Also I REALLY wish traxxas would start making pro kits because it would make them soooo much money!

they need to go into the digital world not the 2.4ghz just yet, but something different. and a new battery tray design, and with kits they lose money tho, you would think not be yea, cause rtr world is far greater, and yea everyone wants a kit but what after they release kits and everyone how wanted one has one then where are they left? making kits that only a few people are gonna buy compared to rtr? yes it saves them production cots but they have to sell it cheaper then the rtr and yes the make it back with mass production, but after they release that WOW kit the whole rest of the year how many of you are really gonna wanna buy one if you already have it? or your new to the hobby? hmmmm... that's also why losi stopped, cause traxxas owns the rtr market, jpi right now has been on top with there kits and kyosho and tamiya, other then that traxxas is doing great in the rtr world.

i think its time tho for traxxas to update there radio systems, i mean having a great truck is one thing but having out dated electronics is a turn off for most of us, u can give it new looks and such but if the gear in it is still the same then what is it just another new coat of pain on their crap, now its not crap its very reliable but its due for a change, the only thing holding me back from the new emaxx is the radio gear, and the old motors, i mean great every which way but failed by putting the old Titans in why not the 12t version??? something different don't just redo the whole truck and ignore the power plant, but they went with whats relialble and affordable. lets just hope the they release the twin bl emaxx, then it will be worth the buy.

I think traxxas has somtin in plans for a digital radio cuz they have digital servo's and the tech's over there at traxxas got to know that not having epa's is gonna kill them servo's that come stock on there bl models that came out a lil while back.

If they do upgrade then most likely prices would go up then new hobbiest will look for the cheaper vehicles. Than when they get home they figure out oh I need to get a radio a engine and so on. I'm not disagreeing with the fact they need to update their radios I'm just saying that this is a cheap alternative. Also I'm sure most people that are in this hobby alot do switch over to another remote.

I agree that Traxxas needs to update their electronics. Maybe the TQ3-2 will have the same format but different electronics.

I am 95% sure that they won't be doing that. People don't buy a Traxxas vehicle for its remote. They buy it for its RTR and for it's easy set up.

I like the color.
The only thing i would do is move the charge jack to somewhere it wont be gripped.
The screws would be a pain after a few tanks.

You cannot even feel them unless your gripping it like a weight. And even then the screws are so small.

i think its HOTT and it would deffinately be a worthy mod for the transmitter. i mean theveve gone rechargable on everything else, and even include an adapter for the 7.2 battery which does NOT come in the box..... traxxas DOESNT have the worst transmitter, but any and all improvements can be appreciated. i do however think the REVO (especially the 3.3) being BRED for racing should at least have a "boxed" RTR OR KIT option to include the spectrum radio. im sure with the amount of trucks they sell they could work a deal with spektrum to get the radio for a stupid low price an inturn sell it with the truck for cheaper than it would be to go out and buy it after.... with all the hype, and what to me seems to be the "new thing" or the hobby to get into . u almost have to do something just to find a open frequency/channel. anyways thats my $.02 and by the way i like it . its an awesome idea. for a number of reasons, and the blue matches similarly to teh chassis plate
A+

the TQ3 is one of the best RTR radios out.....I agree it is not a spektrum or an FM radio but for what it is I don't think it can be beat.....I've used them in 3 differant Tmaxx's and never had one single issue with the radio.....
Now back on topic....I love the color change man that is really kewl and hey a charge jack is always a good thing....
2 thumbs up from the Canuck
