My LHS told my bro last night that Traxxas is unleashing a new model soon. It is supposed to be a truck aimed at the bashing world. The only other detail he got was that it will be powered by a......5.5! I can't wait to see what it is like. Anyone else heard about it?

Probably 1/8 Scale. 5.5 in a 1/10 scale would be overkill I guess.

LOL!!! If anyone is lying it is the owner of my LHS and he si a really cool guy and I don't think he would. That is a pretty big lie to tell if you ask me. We will see I guess. He is a Traxxas dist. so I guess he would be in the know.

Just called TRAXXAS. Asked if new truck was coming out and he went on and on about how there will always be new items coming out. Then I said that it involves a 5.5. He said no. Like 3 times. Definitely not. Not sure if I would trust that LHS owner. They don't tell anyone about their upcoming products until it is released on their website...

traxxas is currently giving away a free resonator pipe if you buy a revo or tmaxx 3.3


last time they had a similar offer with free big bores for the emaxx, a new emaxx followed very shortly


a new bigger engine for the otherwise unchanged revo sounds just about like what traxxas would do based on recent events

Just talked to my bro and he said the LHS guy said it was going to be a 1/8th scale truck with a 5.5 in it. That is all he said though. My bro was telling him that a friend of ours was wanting to get a genisis warhead or whatever the big one is with the 7.7 and the guy said tell him to wait because Traxxas is coming out with a new 1/8th with a 5.5.

the TRX 5.5 is probably not going to be that good, it will probably be a 3 port with mild timing. but I hope Traxxas proves me wrong on it though.

I think they're coming out with something new and bigger. Rumors are flyin around.

Think about it, Traxxas is the last kid on the block without a 1/8 scale. CEN, HPI, LOSI, Duratrax all have 1/8 scale trucks and some even larger, so it's a pretty safe bet that Traxxas will come out with something bigger and badder, the only question is how soon. Bigger is always bettter.

There was some rumors about a 3.7 and that would = a .23 so a 5.5 sounds a lil far fetched not callin you lhs owner a liar but it could just be a rumor JM2C.

Like someone else mentioned they are giving out resonator pipes with the t-maxx and revo now....like they did with the e-maxx & big bores and then released the e-maxx 3905 so there could be a new model on the way wich I hope is a truggy or buggy.

I hope for a basher type truck. 2 speed with 5.5 or w/e light enough to race and revo progressive suspension. Pretty much a 1/8th revo like alot of people have talked about. That would be sick right? I wouldn't put it past them to do it either. They would sell like crazy. What kind of price do you think this new rig is going to have attached to it?

it's got to stay pretty close to the current $500 price tag to stay competetive


they can't raise the price much, or they'll lose tons of sales

it'll maybe be $50 more than what a current revo goes for, then eventually it will drop to the same price as a current revo goes for

Well, if it is going to be a 3.7 or a 5.5 then most likely it's not going to be a drop in but they will need a conversion. So I don't think it will get rid of the 3.3. Think about it they haven't had the 3.3 for that long of a time. Why would they want to destroy it already? They will probably have a conversion kit for 3.3/2.5's.

EDIT: I hope it is something other than the Revo or the T-Maxx. I want something new.

The Savage XL is going for $549.99 or something like that on Tower.

If they wanna get into the 1/8 scale market, they're really gonna have to price that thing sensibly.
