I can only help with nimh charger and suggest the twin pulse, 977 MRC or the dual peak by Hobbico.

I picked one up and am having a blast with it. So far water hasnt been an issue, It handles it like a champ. I get to drive it when my E-lst2 and esavage are stuck on the shelf. It runs alot better than the esavage. It was worth the money to me. I got 2 6cells 3000mah with it[but had very poor performance=21mph and 5 to 7mins of running] I have 4800mah 2s 25c lipos and get 32mph and 20mins of run time. Its the best electric rtr I have ever had.

BUMP it get t-maxx or revo man especially if you don't wanna waste money on batteries and such.
In the long run sure electric will last longer but i think nitro is just more fun
