TMaxx Blue Wire???
Hi everyone, i just got this tmaxx 2.5 from a friend for free, and it needed a glow starter, so i bought one, but i was looking and wondering what this blue wire went to. Ive looked and not seen where it would plug in anywhere. Can someone please help me? Thanks

RE: TMaxx Blue Wire???
down inside the cooling head, there is a glow plug, just line the center of the tip of that blue wire up with the small tip on top of the glow plug and simply push down.
it is the source that lights your glow plug while starting it too to answer your question.
P.S. If you have big fingers and can''t really fit ur finger inside the cooling head, a pair of needle noses will work too, just make sure not to scratch up that wire to the point where bare wire is showing

that is the wire that feeds power to the glow plug. on the top of the glow plug there is a pin, and the spring on the end of that blue wire slides over that pin. its all part of the ez start, the ez start powers the electric motor to turn over the engine and also powers the ignition of the glow plug. make since?

RE: TMaxx Blue Wire???
you are all wrong
its is a t-maxx 2.5R as it has the low profile chevron tires and the trx 2.5r. this can be seen as there are no hex screws holding on the head protector.
so that is better than the t-maxx.
you might aswell get a 3.3 to finish it off.

RE: TMaxx Blue Wire???
it is the 2.5r version of the engine for sure
they came with the blue anodized head
the 2.5 came with the silver
early in the 2.5r production there were some internal differences between the two engines
but later it was just the heads
the blue on was cnc''d and the silver was cast
supposedly the blue one cooled better
there are lots of ways to tell the chassis is not a 3.3
no opti-drive and black plastic for two
in any case
free is a good deal...

RE: TMaxx Blue Wire???
Yeah, well it was all clogged up so gas wasnt flowing into the carb. So i got that fixed and started it up and it ran great! But its weird because it stalls about every 2 and a half minutes. If you either pull the throttle to quickly or just in the random. I might have to tune it, but ive tried and it didnt fix it. Any ideas?

Sounds just like a ordinary tuning issue with the needles. I would go back and re-set the needles to factory settings and try and re-tune it from there; which hopefully will possibly correct that issue.

Well as for the occasional stalling; that can happen to almost anyone with just about any nitro. But other than that, glad to hear from the sounds of it that u got it running pretty well. Have fun with it and of course BURN NITRO!!! [8D]
