Default The $25 T-Maxx

Just thought I'd say a few words about a find I recently came across...the $25 T-Maxx

This is a first-gen Pro .15 T-Maxx (stubby-maxx) that, as far to my knowledge, has had at least 5 owners, all of which did not run the truck all that much, nor did they care for it much either. And up until I received it, it was 100% stock, and all original factory parts, down to the spur gear, although I did get two MIP 360 Stinger pipes with the truck.

Here's how it arrived at my door:

And 9 days and a few parts later, here it is now:

The rear bulkheads were replaced because they were cracked on arrival, as well as the rear skid plate. I had to get a few more screws and the slipper clutch rings and plates, as well as a fuel tank, receiver box, and some linkage hardware. But all in all, not a bad deal for a grand total (so far) of around $60. I still need to get a receiver battery, a failsafe, and a throttle return spring, but I may end up getting a Cobra 19 CB radio and a PA speaker for my 1:1 truck first. The receiver battery pictured I stole from my Savage, and the antenna is wrapped around the shock tower with no covers on neither the receiver nor battery because at the time, I didn't have a switch, so I turned the truck on and off by plugging the battery into the receiver.

Here's some photos of the T-Maxx with my Savage X4.1

Yeah, I know, the T-Maxx (even though it is a stubby-Maxx) doesn't fit on the trailer. But after all, I designed that trailer to carry my electric Pede and gold tub RC10. Plus, I think the T-Maxx is "maxxing" out (pun intended) the load range of those Dirt Works and the trailer.

And just because, some photos of my 1:1 vehicle, a '99 F-150 Super Cab, 5.4L V8, 3.73LS rear end. All stock besides a bed liner, fiberglass tonneau cover, and some fogs in the valance that I installed a few weeks ago.

i find stuff like that all the time......just not on rcu

people just get fed up with the hobby when something big breaks (tranny gears, diffs, etc.)

Its actually a lot of fun restoring old trucks everyone should try it

Yeah I just traded my evader for a T-maxx gen 1 and I am restoring it and theres nothing better than the feeling out of getting a old truck working again. I also am going to convert it to the wide maxx style.

Man it really is amazing what a little care, some new parts, and $60 can do. That is definately a find if I do say so myself not a bad price for it either, even if it does have the old-style pro .15 on it. Very cool man....[8D]

i have my old first gen maxx still, right now its geetting a compleate rebuild, and cleaning, here is a pic of mine befor the rebuild, unfortunatly im not able to get some good parts, i was only able to get replacement ones, it still has the original front bulkheads, and spur gear. i through my dads revo 3.3 tires on it, and it wheelied into the drive way with the stock gear ratio, the stock engine still running strong.
