RE: 1/16 or 1/10?
l dunno what your comp is where you are and what classes they run but l know all about the e-revos, both types as l run em every week.
On a road the 1/16th e-revo will beat the 1/10th off the mark, power to weight. At about 50klm/h the 1/10th revo flies past it and then its in the dust.
The 1/16th revo at high speed offroad can become very uncontrollable very fast.
The 1/10th one is a master of control at any speed on any surface.
The 1/16th revo's batteries can last up to 30minutes, 2x 1550mah LIPO.
The 1/10th revo the batteries last about 20 to 25 minutes, 2x 5400mah LIPO. 5000mah LIPO about 20 minutes.more common.
The 1/16th revo is so light it hardly ever breaks anything, you will chew axles first.
The 1/10th revo is so heavy the axles will only last a couple of months from the torque smashed through them. You will need metal shafts.
The 1/16th revo can have its foam removed for faster take-off and better top speed, and better wheel balancing.
The 1/10th revo cannot.
The 1/16th revo can run in water.
The 1/10th revo cannot.
The 1/16th revo has a top speed around 95 klm/h. [about ]
The 1/10th revo has a top speed over 100klm/h. [about ] l have no speed gun drive next to real cars to test !
My favorite is the 1/10th revo for its bird like abilities.
Although the 1/16th revo will break less in jumps, cause its so light, the 1/10th revo is like a bird of prey when you look up at it comming down just over ya head from a great distance, and its got so much more control, it really is a pleasure to jump.
My main fun is huge jumps and hjigh speed, E-revo 1/10th for me.
l use the 1/16th revo during battery charge up for the 1/10th !
l have 2x venom @ 5400mah 7.4v, and 6x turnigy 5000mah @ 11.1v and two max amps ,@ 11.1v 5000mah and the turigy ones are as good as the dearer ones, and l get about 1 hour and 40 to 50 minutes of drive time before there all flat and 2 are charging while l drive 1/16th revo for 4 sets of batteries, thats an hour of driving, which leaves me with two recharged 1/10th batteries for one more run, when lm finished l usually driven for an average of 2 to 2 and a half hours non stop driving, bar breakages. Then l go drink beer ! With other drivers !
E-revo 1/16th is far cheaper short and long term.
E-Revo 1/10th is worth the extra expence.
E-Revo 1/10th is likely to have more competition and race tracks.
