I bet its cheaper Ron than the current Revo. Since the Tmaxx was cheaper without a battery and reverse and this one is same. Only thing I am concerned that they didnt do was fix the header. It looks like it still uses the same header that bolts on, maybe traxxas improved the strength of their headers now. And not sure if they fixed the throttle return spring like on the plat.

If they do make it cheaper than 500 then its going to be hard to justify the Tmaxx again. Guess well see how low they go if they do

excuse my ignorance but with the forward only conversion that it comes with why do you need a 3 channel radio? I thought that the 3rd channel was to change gears? I feel like such a newb

Looks like they replaced the 3 channel with a 4 channel for the dual steering servos.

"Four Channel Micro Receiver
A new four channel Traxxas micro receiver gives you additional room to grow! The 4-channel micro receiver features two steering servo ports, eliminating the need for a Y-harness."

This newer version looks nice but you could buy all the parts to make an old 2.5r the same without buying a whole new one.

Seems that the optidrive on the New Revo 3.3 is gone, since it no longer uses reverse. But it looks great.

The new REVO is cheaper because it doesn't have the Charger and no reverse. It wont be much cheaper but like 50 bucks. The way I know is because I work at a hobbystore and checked the Wholesaler.

I had a feeling it would only be a matter of time before they would decide to do some upgrades to the revo. It was just a question of when. But from the looks of it, it looks like they did a number of interesting upgrades to it..

Yeah the upgrades are nice. But the "updates" Traxxas is doing is getting a little out of control... I know they came out with the RPE and the slash but they need to think about making truggies, and buggies. And a 1/10 scale with a normal stadium truck chassis. I'm not trying to start a war but...

It's just my 2 cents.

Well all of these upgrades and updates have put a thought in my mind.. I had the same thought in my mind when the PE revo came out. Well my thought is, if traxxas is upgrading their trucks with their hop-ups, won't the price go down on some of those pruducts? Because their using their hop-ups on the base line trucks. If it doesn't then I'm sure it will just be easier to find these parts used for a lot less either way. It seems like a win-win situation.[8D]

I have just started saving for a Revo, I am glad to see this one cme out with a few upgrades to get me started on the racing track. I do not have enough money to justify the platinum, but since this has a few of the platinum upgrades, I am excited!

The Tower price must be a mistake or something. A Main has both the old and the new 3.3 listed at $499.99...

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/25768

and

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/6410

That seems like a great price.
