slayer vs. slash
ok well here is the story...
...me and my frined were wondering witch one to get. where we live we only have an on-road parking lot races everyother sundays. i was thinking of getting the slayer but after hearing all the 3.3 engince problems i dont really know if i want to get it...(i have a nitro rustler and a sportmaxx with 2.5's so i get the whole tune part) but i dont know if i want to spend all my money on gas, plugs, and just new stuff for it. i was wondering if i should just buy and keep the slayer stock over a slash with a brushless and a 3s lipo 5000...seems like....i dont know help me out haha

I definately say slayer all the way!! I know that u might not want to have to buy fuel, plugs, etc. again, but imo thats just part of the whole nitro experience..

RE: slayer vs. slash
i'd get the slash. nitro vs electric is never a good question as it draws some lines people wont cross. i revently bought a revo 3.3 that has been converted to BL and with a little work later it looks like i could make it into a BL Slayer if the mood struck me. if you think the $470 price tag is expensive remember that doesnt include fuel and all the other support material.

RE: slayer vs. slash
Its 4 wheel drive vs. only 2. The slash is basically a rustler with a wide chassis! The slayer, you can beat the crap out of,you can jump it higher, more tuning options.Being a REVO owner,I know how awesome that suspension design is.On a dirt track-no comparison,I know several slash owners who will have theres on ebay,if you want to wait for a killer deal[sm=thumbup.gif].....If you are only racing road the brushless will be fine

RE: slayer vs. slash
wouldn't you already have glow plugs , gas and everything to run the slayer? You said that you already have nitros so it is easier to just get another nitro. Also it would cost more to buy a slash and make it have a brushless system and lipos.

RE: slayer vs. slash
Well I'm thinking about getting the Slayer. Being a Revo 3.3 owner, I already have the extra plugs, and fuel. And like my buddy Randy (nitro fumes rule) says, I love the smell of nitro in the morning.
I think the Slayer will be one heck of a truck. It looks better than any of the other "desert" trucks out there. Becides how cool will it be to see the full size real thing racing on tv in the CORR series.

I definately agree with ya there skullman; and yes u are right, as randy(hobby bench mgr here in phoenix) has been known to say, and like him, I too "love the smell of nitro napalm in the morning" lol). As for the fuel and plugs, I too already have all of that as well, the only thing that is holding me back at the moment is not having the $ for another vehicle(go figure[]) Oh well.........sometimes thats just the way things go....these days it seems like there is never enough $ when ya need it(if ya know what I mean)

RE: slayer vs. slash
ORIGINAL: racemaxx24
It basically is a Revo with shorter arms...
ORIGINAL: slurp91193
well its like buying a revo.
well its like buying a revo.
The Slayer has a track of 11.65" compared to the Revos 16.38". The differance here is the wheels, and arms.
The Slayer has a wheel base of 12.7 " compared to the Revos 13.7"
The Slayer is also longer over all, 22.36" where as the Revo is 20.650"
And the Slayer is just about 2 pounds lighter coming in at 7.47 lbs, to thre Revo's 9.8 lbs.
We all know that the share the same power plant. I'm not sure if the tranny is the same, but it is a 2 speed. And we all know how awsome the suspension package will be.
You can find more information on the Traxxas web site.
I know that I'm giving a lot of thought to adding this bad boy to my small collection for r/c's.
It will be intresting to see what ppl do to this truck. I sure it wont be long before someone stuffs a big block in the Slayer.
Well 'nuff said.

RE: slayer vs. slash
get a e revo then when the slayer comes out wait untill the ebay revo chop shops (rc waffle ) starts geting the parts then put slayer arms on the e-revo. bam no you have the best of both worlds.

RE: slayer vs. slash
Talked with the Traxxas guys at the CORR races. They put the price at about 430 -450. Alittle less than Tower sight says. And if you complained about Slash suspension being too soft you will complain about Slayer too. But the whole reason is to mimmic the 1:1 corr trucks

RE: slayer vs. slash
the slayer will be in its own class from what i understand... and if not now, sometime in the future. its definitely a good race concept but a bad bash concept, i would just pick up a revo then if and when the create a class for the slayer, convert the revo to a slayer if youre still itching to get the slayer
