RE: Strange sound
ok well i changes the rubber gasket from the engine to the header and still no luck. Could the back plate be loose? I'm extremely confused here. Ive had this car for over 2 years and this never happened..

Well it wouldn't hurt to take off the head and/or backplate and have a look around inside and see if u see anything unusual or not normal rolling around in there making noise?? Just a thought here....[sm=71_71.gif]

RE: Strange sound
Mine ran very loudly when the OWB seized on the starter shaft, it sounded like a tractor. Something for you to check...and while you're in there definitely check the backplate.
I've since gone to bump start.

Did it get loud over time or was it sudden? Do you do a lot of jumps where you land butt-end pretty hard?

I wasnt even running it. I had it shut down for about a week then i started it back up and it made that loud noise. All it gets is street use

Hmmm...I'm stumped. I was thinking perhaps the pipe was cracked underneath from an impact or the header had a hole worn into it from unbolting/rebolting it repetitiously since that one bolt is hard to get to.

RE: Strange sound
If it is as loud as you say it is definatly either your header is cracked around the mounting flange or something else in the exaust system. I would bet it is the header. They are very thin and mounted rigid so the crack/bend/break very easy.
If that is the case I have a very easy cheap fix for it.

Revo was really loud one day but I continued to run it.
Had the air hose on it, cleaning, and it must have been just enough pressure to crack the remainder of whatever it was still attached to the flange by.

I bet fish killa is right on the money somehow when he just mentioned that it could be the exhaust/exhaust coupler that developed a possible crack in them, as I have seen and heard of that happening before due to just overall usage and wear and tear; so I agree that u should check that....
