$600 4 UPGRADES. I NEED ADVICE PLEASE!
HAVE 4908 T-MAXX. I need some help figuring out what to get that will be a worthy upgrade. Any suggestions? I want this truck to be amazing but not heavy and slow from lots of show parts with no real purpose. I will be rough on it because its my first nitro. BGW

So drive it till it breaks and get first hand experience, every driver is slighly different, who knows what you will bust first. You will bust it but, its the nature of this hobby...
Didnt you already ask this question anyways ? ...

I'm sure rpm a-arms wouldn't hurt. I just bought a set for my revo, and the rear a-arm conversion for my t-maxx. You could also get a tuned pipe. There are many more options, but I'll leave the rest of the list to more experienced users.

Heres what I would suggest
- install a new steering servo that puts out lots of torque (300oz or more), and shift old steering servo to throtle position
- front and read aluminum bulkheads
- traxxas big bore shocks with 60wt oil and Integy blue springs (fairly stiff)
- new engine (I have not done this but from what I hear the RB523 or Picco .26 engines are a huge upgrade)
that should put you right around $600 mark
OPTIONAL
- RPM or Aluminum skidplates, bumpers
- RPM suspension arms, I dont think that these should be changed until the break

I too would say for a new radio system like the spektrum 2.4 systems, or one of the futaba FASST systems....that would definitely be a worthwhile upgrade imo...

Another vote for an upgraded Radio...I have the Spektrum DX3.0 and it is great. I don't have a T-Maxx so I can't comment on hopups for it, but, from experience with my Revos, RPM arms are a great investment.

Regarding the radio should i get the spektrum dx3r or is that overkill. Are the digital servos that come with the dx3r good enough or would i need to upgrade those as well? As far as new motor goes. what's the best for the 4908 and do I need it yet since I'm still learning. Also what shocks because I want to be able to get some huge air and look flashy at the same time. I'm overwhelmed by the response I get from people when they see this truck. EVERY person that has seen it has been like WOW so I really want some nice flashy parts that really make the truck look awesome but that are also fully functional. Thanks for the replies, Keep em coming. BGW
I ALSO NEED TO KNOW WHERE TO ORDER THESE PARTS FOR THE BEST DELIVERY TIME AND COST. SUPPORTING LOCAL LHS AS MUCH AS I CAN BUT THE GUY THAT OWNS IT IS LIMITED IN KNOWLEDGE OF MAXXES AND IS MORE ABOUT MODEL TRAINS AND SCALE REPLICAS.

I'd suggest holding each radio and see which one fits you best. I didn't like the feel of the Spektrum. I would suggest trying the Futaba 3PM, Spektrum DX3/R, Airtronics M11, Nomadio React. Definitely go with 2.4Ghz. Are you bashing or racing?
I just got my Nomadio React, and plan to add a JR 9100S for throttle and JR 9100T for steering. Those are the two best servos out right now in my opinion.

Id suggest buying a diffrent truck, that in its self would be a massive upgrade

Nothing agianst the T-maxx, it was my first truck too. Radio and stering are a much needed upgrade, other than that, wait till it breaks then upgrade it. No use in taking off good parts.

Told him that already, likes the maxx, he has to learn his own way.
l dont understand how two cannot be better than one, especially when you can get better for that money from the same company and have spairs for either truck. ! LOL !
