Well, I bought the old revo 3.3 three months ago and my reverse gear is about done and I've used it like 10 times.
Forward only conversion on the way.
I wouldn't worry about it because you'd probably drop it later instead of fixing it, seems to be what most people do anyway.
Just my opinion.

ANY REASON TO WHY YOU WANT TO GET THE REVO. I HAVE THE NEW 3.3 AND ITS NOTHING IMPRESSIVE. AFTER I PUT ANOTHER 300 INTO ITS ABOUT UPTO PAR WITH MY NEW RTX-27 STOCK PRETTY SAD IF YOU ASK ME. THE ONLY THING MY REVO HAS OVER THE STOCK RTX-27 IS TOP END OTHER THAN THAT THE RTX KILLS THE REVO IN HANDLING AND BASHING. NO QUESTIONED ASKED THERE.

the revo is my first rc since turbo hoppers were cool.. its an awsome machine, handles very well, and set up properly, easily makes enough power to lift the front wheels, into second gear on pavement
i just googled that RTX-27, and besides big.. it doesnt look to great to me.. it actually looks clunky, and awkward [sm=lol.gif]
but thats just my opinion!

Sorry , that RTX-27 is just a re hashed , re done Warhead . Pretty much the same lame truck , just a few mods and different wheels .
The REVO 3.3 if tuned and ran correctly is a great truck out of the box , and the newest version has done away with the weak reverse which makes the tranny alot more reliable .....
rcmadness09 , I dont know what troubles you had with your REVO , maybe you got a lemon ? User error ? IDK .....

9 times out of 10, the problems with a Traxxas is user error, hence the reason the Traxxas Customer Support tries not to laugh when you explain that the problem with your Traxxas vehicle is their fault

RE: Anyone with the new revo 3.3 #5308!!
I have my 3rd revo now. I never upgraded the first 2 in any way and they were great trucks. The latest revo has been upgraded in many ways and I'm shocked at the difference I see. The revo is awsome and with a few upgrades and a little time it can be even better, extremly better. Did'nt know what I was missing out on with my first two.

I just got the newer Revo 3.3 (5803).
Out of the box the thing is INCREDIBLY durable, only upgrades needed for racing are different springs and possible new tires.
Stay away from the Duratrax for sure, the Revo is an incredible truck. I do not see any Duratrax's at the track
Very Strong, very durable, very fun! I can't wait to race mine tomorrow again (I bash too).

Ohhhh I gotcha! I was just letting people know that out of the box it is great if you choose too leave it alone. I took mine to the track the day after I broke it in, and all I really need to do is tune the suspension!

Woo losts of comments THAX!! YA revo looks to be the best in my mind right now, so dont worry its going to be a revo lol. THen for x-mas i am going to hop it up with like, center diff, exo wing, picco .26 red dot. I will be bashing this so the center diff will help keep the wheeles down lol.
