Default New bearings in 3.3, big difference

I just got a new revo 3.3 and i broke in the motor "not my first" perfect 200f and all that. Just about 3 tanks ago my engine started to make so weird noise like a bell rattling and now when i do like 2 high speed runs and bring it in it will stall at tdc ever time. And when your getting up to top speed the motor kind of revs and down revs and then wide open. If you can help me that would be really nice. Thax P.S its not the OWB trust me, its the motor and the drive lines are free and its rolls just find and the brake isent to tight. I do use a drill start so maybe i broke something but when you look in the motor is all fine to the eye.

Well, if it sounds like its coming from the clutch bell area, then I would double check the bearings for the clutch bell, because I took one look at mine one day, and man!! they were all cruded up with dirt, grime, and all sorts of other nasty stuff on them. In a nutshell they looked like they had been through world war III, to say the least. So i would double check those. Also, check the teeth on the clutch bell itself, becauase if there are any pits or grooves in the bell, then that too might cause that noise....

Could it be my main bearings because it dose shut off when off the gas and when on the gas there is so much compression the bearing dont wobble.

if you here the motor intermittently raising and lowering rpms than you probably have an air leak. a bad air leak with cause you to stall suddenly if you go to lean!

Ok well i have the motor apart and i though it was the main bearings which may still be my problem. I dont think it is anything tuning can do because it making a loud rattling noise soon as it it fired up. What do you guys think about get a heavy duty con. rod and aftermarket main bearings? Thax for your help

Well, before u go and try buying a new rod and bearings, I would first call traxxas and see what they have to say about it. IF, after u talk to them and they possibly think its the bearings, I would try replacing the main bearings and see if that solves the problem at hand.

Well i tell you what i have called traxxas today and the guys like umm umm well send it in idk what it is just send it in and we will charge you to fix it with the same junk parts. I was looking on the traxxas fourms and one guy was saying that when a engine is make a rattling noise its your bearings, so i am going to get some ceramic ones and get a nice heavy duty connecting rod. If someone could give me a site to get a nice con. rod that would be great. P.S the traxxas dude didnt want to say that the bearings were going tout because then he would have to replace them since i have like 1 gallon on it and olny had it for 6 days.

Davis Diesel Development makes a conrod for the 3.3 that is supposed to be bullit proof.

I just replaced my new 3.3's bearings with Acer ceramics. Only time will tell how they hold up but so far so good.

That looks like a good possibility for a new bearing. I probably would give it a shot; especially at that price. That is a good price for bearings...

bake them in the oven for 250f 5-10 mins and the bearings should slide out easily. crankase only take all the parts out before putting in the oven.

Or you can use a heat gun. I stripped the engine right down (don't forget the o-ring in the carb opening) and with the heat gun set at max (1100 degrees) heated the block for about 10 seconds, gave it a whack on the table and out came the rear bearing. Just make sure you take off both seals of the rear bearing and the one seal off the front bearing (seal side faces outward of course).

Well ones things for sher, the thing is way faster. I would guess maybe 5mph more top-end. I would buy from them again. I had the bearings in 2 days and they cept me updated the hole time in which i would get them.
