It would probably be quicker on the track, because that is what it is designed for. As far as top speed goes, the Revo should easily outrun it because it has a 2 speed. The Hellfire has a single speed.

I would have to say there is no "vs" in Revo vs Hellfire. The Revo will beat it. The Revo does have several advantages: lighter, better designed, better X-Y moment of inertia, can land jumps better, multi-speed tranny, and so on. Yes the Hellire has a lower stance and the Revo might be higher, but the Revo will overcome this with all of its other advantages.

wrong......by the time the Revos 2nd gear kicks in the hellfire even with its RTR HPI engine will be at the finish line......You can't compare a truggy to a Monster Truck.....it just doesn't work.

I have several Tmaxx's that are every bit as fast as any Revo I've ever seen in bashing situations but they haven't got a prayer against even a RTR Truggy...Trust me I've raced against them and it was embarassing. So embarassing in fact I went out a bought 2 truggies.

My advice would be to buy a more capable truggy like an Losi 8T or AE RC8.....The hellfire will spank a Revo but for about the same amount of money you can buy a much better truggy.

RcCanuk your the man lol I was lookind at the ae RC8 KIT. But realy mostlikely just gona stay with revo and bash it and have fun. My buddie just baught a savage Xl and its alot bigger than my revo. We broke it in lastnight but unfortunatly i didnt see final break in tank to see what speen this thing has. I realy want to be able to outrace him and out jump him. I'm pretty comfortable saying my revo will do the trick. I;ve been realy surprised with my stock 3.3 after I put it back in.

RE: revo 3.3 vs HPI Hellfire?

I guess I'm gonna have to jump in on this too.

RCCanuck you sound just like all the guys at one of the tracks I used to race at. They were all HPI fanboys and the mt class there consisted of 6hellfires,3 savages,2 lst's, and one BA maxx. First time I showed up with my Revo I was getting crap left and right from the helffire drivers because they "owned the track".....I got first in the A main and B mains. The hellfire is a begginer truggy, nothing special like the 8-T or RC8T. With the right driver and right setup the revo is a awesome hybrid on the track. The next weekend I showed up to race 3 of the hellfire owners had sold their hellfires to the lhs as used and 2 of the guys bought revo's and the other bought some kind of kyosho truggy....The new revo drivers were giving a run for my money with the 18tz in one and picco maxx in the other. The kyosho just didn't have the best driver in the world....he was in over his head and couldn't setup the truck worth a crap. Alot of us tried to help him out with his setup but he didn't want out help. He had a modded .21 v-spec and it had to much power for him. Just because someone has a truggy doesn't mean they will win everytime.
Real revo\'\'s are built not bought.

driver skill put aside, the revo with certain mods can become just like a truggy

Clymer you couldn't get it more wrong man.....I'm a Traxxas boy all the way....And I only hit the track once a year......I do own a Savage...As I think everyone should. But 4 Tmaxx's and enough parts for 3 more qualifies me as a Traxxas fan I think.....Never owned a Revo but I've driven a few....Guess I was just using my own personnel knowledge of truggies in general to assume that the Hellfire will automaticly spank a Revo My bad....too many factors involved....as stated above: Driver ability,,,,condition of both vehicles,,,engine,,gearing choices,,,ahh you get the point....so point taken as well.

I will say that moving from a MT to truggies in purely bashing situations is like being handed the keys to a Ferrari after driving a Chevy for years....I run 2 CEN Matrixs and will not reccomend them due to lack of parts alone....Took me 3 weeks to get knuckles and a servo saver upper arm.

I have both the hellfire and the revo. The revo has more speed (about a 5mph difference) but the hellfire is much more durable and fun (even a great basher).[:'(]
