What purpose does the cut-out bed serve?

...I hope he cleans that present before he gives it to him...

I think it is actually clear, not cut out. See the body pins? It could just be he is going for a sport truck look. I know a lot or 1:1 sport truck builders go for plexiglass beds because they are lighter. This has actually inspired me to leave the bed of my next body clear so it looks more like a Baja racer (seeing as those don't really have any bed).

No seriously no have to get a wing or wheelie bar. My picco max would flip on it back ever touch of the throttle even with extended arms. Needless to say my body was trashed. You have a .28 with with crazy torque. Way more than my motor.

PrjctStrtFrce Ihis bed is clear not cut. Ppeople cut the beds out so they can tune the carb with the body on. This helps when it cold out. Its hard to get the motor up to temp with the body off.

Hey everyone, proud owner of this beautiful truck here. Just wanted to tell yall a little about this Revo. This thing started out as a 2.5 but is now pretty much a platinum edition without the platinum chassis. It has all the traxxas platinum revo upgrades except hard coated shocks (soon to come). Wheelying won't be a problem with the center diff installed, although center diffs are not allowed in No Limits race league, an Ofna force 21 3 port will be used to race these events along with the stock solid center gear shaft. This truck was raced in the sportsman truggy level in Va. and hung with race truggies no problem, even a couple of second and third place finishes. Now that I've stepped up to a real truggy (Jammin X2), It's time for my son to take the reigns of this truck. Building it so he can race the No Limits monster truck races, which is a little more fun for the younger kids than off road racing. I hope he enjoys!!! By the way, the bed was left unpainted so he could choose a picture to paint on it after he gets it for Xmas, right now he has no clue that he is getting it.

Thanx for posting the pics for me J

Everything was off the truck for cleaning. I will try to get some pics of the motors and electronics posted soon. I'm using the Spektrum dx2.0 right now with a JR 8711 steering servo and HiTech 645 for throttle and brake duty. Will soon be upgrading to the new spektrum dx3s radio system. Being as my cousin forgot that I put my Jammin JPX.28 in my Jammin X2 CRT, this truck is actually getting a Hyper .21 3+1 port installed as soon as I get the bumpstart backplate which should come this week. I order it last week so it should come soon. I'll also get some pics of my X2 as I absolutely love my truggy. Thank you everyone for the compliments, I personaly think this is a beautifully painted truck and the flames came out great. thanx again for checking it out

Nice setup! What big block mount are you using? How do you like the 645mg as your throttle servo? I've seen so many people with that servo as their throttle but I haven't heard any feedback from them. Yea that lid came out nice.[8D]

I'm using the traxxas big block mount kit, works fine with just a little filing and using the extended wheelbase a arms from traxxas also. Makes for a roomy fit without the EZ start. Bumping is a must for me. As for the servo, it works great for throttle and plenty of torque for the brakes on this thing, no complaints at all.

Also, I will be getting a full set of cvds for him to install himself. That is why the drive shafts aren't too clean, waist of time to clean if repacing them. I just pulled the body and wheels off and changed suspension set up tonight. Put racing body, wheels, and wing back on. I will try to get some pics of it in race format posted this weekend.
As for all the new parts my son doesn't know about... they will all be wrapped up individually for Xmas and as soon as he starts opening he'll start to realize that I'm giving him my Revo and I'll sit down with him and help him change the parts over. What better way to bond with your kids[8D]

Sounds like u definitely got a nice setup going there!!! I tell ya what; if I had known that spektrum was coming out with the dx3s before i got the dx3.0 for my revo myself; I probably would have waited to get that one....but oh well....I will have to wait for awhile anyways because of a lack of what else??? why $ of course....

You have great skills with the airbrush. How much time do you spend at the track?

While it is not a revo, that is still one sweet looking truck there, and one sweet looking paint job...almost looks too good to get it dirty or banged up!!! [8D]
