Default My new ride

I've bitten the bullet and finally got a Revo in a deal for a Savage 4.6 SS and a CEN MG16.The Savage I got also in a deal on Satuday but really took it as a last resort, the little MG16 is a truck I really like and has been great fun with very little trouble in the 1.3years i've had it.I've always had CEN Genesis and Nemesis trucks and still have a Genesis LE that I love but always fancied a Revo, its the first Traxass model i've owned and its not because I dont like Traxass I do but the st fromories of the TRX 3.3 being unreliable and suffering from bearing failure always stopped me from getting one.

Any way i've ended up with no ordinary Revo, its been hopped up with RPM arms all round RPM bumpers and skids,Hitec HS645MG steering servo and HS635 on the throttle/brake duty,23mm hexs,Proline Velocity rims with Crimefighter tyres and a brand new RB TM523 with RM tuned pipe thats had the break in process and about 4 tanks besides, its got a lot of spare springs and other bits, including the original arms with it and a Proline Crowd Pleazer bodyshell and Revo rear wing aswell as a Hong Nor alloy long life red shoe clutch and Integy hardened 18t CB to match the Hardened spur and has a FOC.Heres a few pics, hope you like her,I do.I take delivery on Weds or Thurs...

Cheers guys,i'm loving the thing, its awesome and a great build quality.I've added stainless steel bolts to the majority of the truck and am waiting for a Torx screw and bolt kit for it.i've also just transplanted everything over to the 3.3 chassis.I took it out for the first time to tune the RB engine as it was still at factory settings,I went easy with the tune and the thing is mental, wheelies on command and not even fully tuned yet.The only thing I wanted to do was change to the 3.3 chassis and tune the shift point of the gears, its changing too early for my liking, the trucks only just got moving when it changes up so a little tweak and that should be good.I'm planning on getting the 17mm hexs and standard wheels and bodyshell in white fron the 5308 latest model as thats what it basically is now and I just want the option of the standard look for show and the Proline shell and 40 series for bashing.I'm getting another Proline shell also,a quicklidz and just getting green paint to match the wheels, that should be a good match.I had to clean and re-glue two tyres as the job is a bad one that was originally done but a cleaning and prepping with the Dremmel and sanding drum was all that was needed,I used a heavy duty cyno, industrial strength, doubt they'll come unglued now...

Heres a few more pics of the rebuild...

Its a metallic purple with fuel resistent lacquer, just de-anodized the chassis then keyed it with wire wool, couple of coats of primer and then top coat and finally the lacquer.Gotta say its a great truck but I wasnt liking the 3.3 chassis so i've switched back to the 2.5R chassis in standard blue anodize.I will put it all back on the 3.3 chassis when I get another shell, the Crowd Pleazer that I have is the one for the 2.5 chassis so looks wrong when its on that 3.3 chassis.

The pics below is what its like at the minute.I have 3 reverse kits that I got hold of with Optidrives, sensors and servos so i've refitted reverse back on it and the standard radio box and servo mounts.I've a rollbar and new EZ Start wiring harness on the way also, just want all options but will probably go back to the FOC and 5308 model radiobox and servo mount.Next on the list is the RPM true track rear arms and hub carrier and some alloy shock mounts....

The RB is one awesome and sweet sounding mill in my opinion,i've never had a long term experience with the TRX 3.3 so cant really comment but i've seen Revo's with that engine and drove them and in no way have they got the power the RB has.I've been told by a few that its up there with the best engines for this truck and has slightly better performance than the Picc .26 but again,I have no experience with that engine either. All the RB engines i've owned for buggies and marine for the boats have been tremendous, especially the WS7 3 and the C6 L2G so i've no doubt that this engine, once fully loosened, will be an animal as its already wheelieing the truck on command and isn't fully tuned yet....

That RB engine looks SICK!!!! and yes I know what u mean about how the RB engines have power and torque up the wazoo because I have a RBWS7II in my 1/8 buggy and that thing spins the tires sooo dang fast for a moment I thought it was gonna spin the glue right off the tires/wheels LOL!!!! so yea RB's are definitely powerhouses!!! Cool dude!!!! [8D]

you can put rubber stoppers on them and they are supposed to stop you from bottoming out

oh, that seems like a weird design to prevent bottoming out.

You need to get that POS K&N filter off of your truck. It will kill your motor real quick. If you notice K&N DOES NOT sell RC filters on thier site. The filters that are sold online or on ebay are K&N crank case breathers for automotive purposes. They are not meant to filter out dirt like a regular air filter. These are sold under FALSE pretense. Most are used for shelf queens and for looks but do not actually work in rc applications. But hey if you think it looks cool go for it. You will be buying a new motor real soon.

Oh ok then. Thats good. Get a motor saver filter or any dual stage filter. They will work better than stock. Stock is very restrictive. Truck looks tough though.
