RE: fastest SB revo???
I got 54mph without trying too much with a mildly modified OS.18TZ.
With the engine fully modified i got 50mph on 15T 38T (Stock) only. Will have to restest top speed later.

RE: fastest SB revo???
so i guess 60+ is obtainable. heres what im starting with... 18tz, traxxas bb header, bored out dc. 17-38 gearing, running on 30% o'donnel... plan to switch rear wheel drive, replace shocks with links, remove front diff and drive shafts... only down side is rear brake only.. edit.... overrevo, your vids turned me to the tz. its a powerful motor thats for sure. mabye you could mod one for me.

RE: fastest SB revo???
im pertty confidant ill break 50. a stock revo could almost hit 50 with higher gearing. mine will probly be 2 pounds lighter then you revo,( mabye more) with higher gearing.

Mayhem is right, everything counts. You are shaving off a very high percentage of weight when taking off 2lbs a truck. RWD will definitely help, I've done all of these trucks with my Savage, except I was lazy and left the diff inside the bulkhead cause it takes long to access them on the old Savages. Beware that breaking really sucks with only the rear, but it comes at the price of removing weight and rotating mass. You should definitely hit 50 with that setup.

Damn that is hard core, you'll definitely be going fast with that.. Only thing I'd be concerned with is driving on a bumpy road with those "shocks" lol[8D]

RE: fastest SB revo???
^ Yep thats really important. Both sets of my tires I use on my Savage are unbalanced and the foam has began to get lumpy- that kills your acceleration and speed and adds stress to your knuckles. You've just reminded me I need to do that when I finally unglue all of my tires and do a 17mm conversion on everything[sm=thumbup.gif]

I see a bent pushrod! Looks like you will be flying with that thing. I think I could break 50 when my new CB comes, the old clutch was only catching slightly and wore out the inside of the cb so now I have the MIP clutch shoes and a new cb setup to try out. I need to fill the diffs aswell.
How do you balance your tyres?

RE: fastest SB revo???
thanks guys,... i decided to remove the roll bar and shorten the fuel line.also made a cool head protector just incase i do flip..man this revo is sitting low, the engine head is barely above the tires...and im thinking about taking out first gear. it will take off some weight and i wont have to worry bout loosing control when second gear hits....taking it for a test trive tommorow, weather permitting, to see how it handles. also i removed the engine brace.

RE: fastest SB revo???
LOL.... "in the ghetto"... lmao-head protector.
I'd leave first gear in there. You'll most likely be out of range by the time you hit top speed if you pull it.

RE: fastest SB revo???
what does she weigh at the moment? if you want a little more engine protection, chop that roll cage up and put some of it over just the engine itself. that is, if you dont mind adding a little weight! i'd hate to see you do all this work then completely crack that engine in half like some guys have done.

just drove 2 tanks on my street. its a beast!!! it still wheelies from a stop and it stable enough to floor it. it dont like bumps, but loves the smooth stuff.also traction was a lot better then i anticipated....... a 17t clutchbell wont be enough, it tops out with in 150' definitely haulin' ass....
