NEW TRAXXAS BIG-BLOCK AND TRUCKS

RE: NEW TRAXXAS BIG-BLOCK AND TRUCKS
Now you are making some sense lol. I agree with the fact that a 9lb MT with 5.5 inch diameter tires should have never been equipped with a .15 size engine. All I can say in anticipation for these new engines is that I don't expect much basing it solely on Traxxas' powerplant history.
As for the S-25 argument, think of this- When the Savage 25 came out, the drivetrain was identical to the older 21 model which meant plastic diff cases and 2 gear differentials. Even though that specific .25 engine wasn't exactly the most powerful thing at the time, it moved the truck just fine without compromising the integrity of the driveline. Now with these new trucks having HD components stock, they are of course very well matched especially with the F 4.6 engine. You have to remember though, that the 25 came out in 2003...
Lets just hope Traxxas does they homework this time, their new revision of top fuel does a lot better on power, but still has the oil issue..

RE: NEW TRAXXAS BIG-BLOCK AND TRUCKS
Well my revo 3.3 is running awsome!! I have TKO ceramics in the motor and that little 3.3 is a great motor. I have been running nitros for 9 years and have the ability to tune a nitro where most of these kids buying nitro dont have a clue to what they are doing. As long as traxxas beefs things up and people stop jumping there house's they should hold up fine. My first nitro was the tmaxx pro .15 and ran that for many years and put a 3.3 on that and she was a fast little truck. Held up fine also. As long as you take care off them and treat them well they will last a good while.

lol don't get me started on my T-maxx 2.5. Poor thing had so many upgrades, it was sad to see it go on ebay. Now I just need to sell my bros S-maxx and his gear and we'll have some extra space hehe

RE: NEW TRAXXAS BIG-BLOCK AND TRUCKS
Even if they did come out with a new .26 engine I would not buy it!
The picco would undoubtedly stomp on the new "traxxas big block" even though it is a mid block [>:]
I love my picco, I would never change it. If anything I would buy a 1/8 revo roller and put my picco in it

The TRX .26 engine will most likely be pretty close in power if not more and most likely more reliable (although I am not sure as I have never had experience with a Picco).

RE: NEW TRAXXAS BIG-BLOCK AND TRUCKS
^ I guarantee you it won't... The highest hp rating on any TRX engine right now is right around at 1.00 on the dyno from what I remember... Thats for the 3.3 which is a .20 size engines, there are .21s that make 1.45 or more so Traxxas is faaaaaaaaar away from the high end of the spectrum....

Good point nitrohead. I just want to see Traxxas succeed with a TRX big block engine. The small blocks weren't exactly the greatest.

I am sure it will go down in true Traxxas style. The crank will be short, or the engine mount will be goofy so you still stuck running a TRX engine. While every other MT can run anyothers engine since they all have a universal mounting deminsions.

Is this the new Revo that you meant?
http://www.traxxas.com/products/nitr...x_revo5309.htm
Looks bigger, but not 1/8 and still uses the 3.3 engine, so no big block. Looks great.

RE: NEW TRAXXAS BIG-BLOCK AND TRUCKS
I see, well, this new Revo is pretty sweet. It is a little bit bigger as what the Traxxas site says, but no big block. I like the T-Maxx a lot and I'm really interested in seeing this new big block T-Maxx.

RE: NEW TRAXXAS BIG-BLOCK AND TRUCKS
i think we can expect them to be quite expensive, http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXXYH3**&P=0 the 3.3 revo with 2.4 gig. im guessing they will be something aroud $560 for the maxx and $650 for the revo 4 months ofter release (the usual cool down time for a new model). the traxxas engines (perticularly the pro .15) is a decent engine, my uncle ran it in his maxx for the entire time he owned it (over 4 years) and i am not having any issues with mine in my sport. i dont think they will be droping the 2.5, they will likely put them in the n'sport and n' 'pede, ditching the pro.

I have some information, on some new things from traxxas
They will be releasing these products in the fall.
A big-block trx motor, which is a .26, this will be a full big-block not a mid-block
Two new trucks based on this motor, a tmaxx truck, with all steel drivetrain, and drive line,
and a revo based truck with the same driveline. These trucks will also have a new 2.4 ghz radio system, with a new style transmitter.
All nitro tmaxx and revo based models with the 3.3 will end production.
The 3.3 will remain in the jato and 4-tech.
The 2.5 will remain in the rustler, but this truck will end production next year,
when a jato version based on the jato steve slayden made for the offroad, for traxxas. Check out their web-site
The big-block trucks will be true 1/8 scale
This should bring nitro back to top where it belongs.
Dont ask me how I got this info, I cant tell you, but I have some associates that work for the big T

I have another reason to believe him about the bb maxx
on traxxas forums alley section there is a 54 page thread. on the last page I posted about my poll i made here and what people wanted... 70+% some type of 1/8 scale... not an electric slayer. two minutes later my post was removed from the thread and it was closed for further discussion []
