What is the indended use for the 5122X T-Maxx Long Wheelbase Chassis? It fits the model 4908 T-Maxx with the TRX 3.3 engine.

Is it typically required for installing a larger engine? If so, how much larger, and is it for a specific brand of engine?

That is a typical extended chassis, it will NOT work with big block engines. You need to buy an extended chassis specific for big blocks, plenty of them out there.

If not for a larger engine, then what would be the purpose of extending the chassis? (To be able to use larger bodies?)

The extended chassis (extended in the front) is a more stable platform for handeling purposes.

^ Yeah, its mostly used for stability for jumping and kills wheelies a little. It makes the turning radius a little wide though.
