i was wondering from people with experience howbig joe 40 series handle with a 3.3 maxx. i would think they would have amazing traction but do you know if this will hurt performance at all like heavier and such?

i wouldn't run huge tires like that it will just kill your low end, unless you gear low but then your top speed suffers, its up to you

I ran them for a while on my OS 18TM maxx. They had great traction and were excellent offroad! The acceleration did suffer a bit and I had to get a stronger steering servo but they were great tires.

Yeah i didnt think about that steering would be more of a problem as well, what servos do you guys run in your maxx's?, i run a hitec with 133oz of torque and its not that peppy, i feel like i need double

I ran this for a while with my big joes http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXUZ89&P=ML and it was fine. I later upgraded to a better servo though but i'm back to running maxx-size tires.

I had a set of Big Joes that I tried very briefly on T-maxx with an OS 18TM.. honestly they are too big and heavy for the truck.. They looked cool, but that was about it.. the top end was OK, but the tires were so big, I wasn't happy with the ride and handling of the truck.. I ended up running Revo tires and rims on the Maxx now and sold these tires a while back on Ebay...

What do you guys think of the stock chevron tires?, i think they look pretty sick stock, and should grip nice in the rough stuff

The Chevrons do much better when you cut/sipe them. They also last a long, long time.

These are stock chevrons cut on a table saw.

It gives them much better side bite.

i wouldnt recommend big joes...too big too heavy and too hard on gear......i put them on my 1mth old 4908 t-maxx and pretty much completely destroyed my drive line....clutch,tranny gears, rear end,and drive shafts..........some of which may have been my fault for not adjusting my slipper but being a newbe i didnt know anything about that at the time and left it adjusted as it came from traxxas.

I agree. I had them on my S-Maxx with my Sirio .23 and loved it...unfortunately the power destroyed the insides of the rims. But it ran fine to me.

That looks really good, but you would have to be careful cutting them on a table saw, what was your technique?, withought chewing the tires up?, i like what you did with that .15 huge gas tank, what is that beside the motor tho?, my friend was also wondering about that throttle linkage he thinks his is somebody's idea of a jimmy rig, but yours looks almost the same, is that the stock link?,

You do need to be careful with the table saw. I just used the fence as a guide and turned the tire slowly by hand.
Cut all 4 tires with the fence setting the same, then move the fence for the next set of cuts. Go slow, don't force the tire through, let the saw do the work. Set the blade depth so as not to cut into the tire between the treads.. Most of all BE Careful!

P.S. ..Wear a mask.

The thing beside the engine is a Info Lithium battery for the receiver.
That is the stock carb linkage for the Pro.15

thats the stock linkage on a rotary carb. i bet that thing is a wheelie machine with all that fuel behind the rear tires, huh snook!!!
