Does the revo need a special air filter on the 2.5r to clear the spur gear?

As far asI know the Revo has only 1 style airfilter that fits both the 2.5r and 3.3..P/n#5266 for the dual stage and #5264 for the single stage one..

You can get the current stock air filters for the 3.3 and it will clear the spur gear. P/n# is above

cant you turn the airfilter enough to clear it?

im not tryin to take over the thread but how could i seal up a whole in my air filter from the spur gear

How bad is it???If it is clear enough that dust or dirt can get into the carb without bypassing the filter. Than deffinately replace the filter. Not too sure how you'd seal an air filter without replacing it. But would like to hear some ideas

You make want to check the engine mount for cracks/breaks and the chassis for bends. A hole worn in the air filter neck on the Revo is sometimes an indication the engine mount is broken and/or the chassis is bent which allows the spur to move closer to the filter neck.
