HELP!!! With BB engine
I have a SHLRP .30 and I was wondering what I would need to install it on the new Slayer 4x4. Any mods or BB mounts.
Thank you

RE: HELP!!! With BB engine
the slayer is nothing more than a revo 2.5...there are many nounts available...traxxas and new era are prolly the most common...for the sh engines im not sure if other mods will have to be done or not...ive got pics of my lrp 28 and my picco in my gallery...ive also done a sirio...both the lrp and the sirio i did have have to do other mods....simple thou...nuthin major...if you wanna see a wil mod look in my gallery at the swmodded losi 3.4 in the revo...that was a pretty extensive install...keep us informed man and have fun doin it

RE: HELP!!! With BB engine
Well I researched it quite a bit and I've decided that I am going to store the SH Lrp 30 for later and I am going to buy a Dynamite Big Red .28 Mach 2. Alot easier all I need is a new era BB mount and I will be good. The SH i will use for later, probably to much for the tranny to handle.

RE: HELP!!! With BB engine
The big red packs a punch also and the tranny needs beefing up. At least the input gears should be changed for rrp steel or you will eat them up and the first gear spur with it. Also with the big red and the new era mount (the best mount in my opinion) you will need to drill out the tranny holes on the chassis to move the tranny forward by at least 5mm, by doing this you will noy be able to use steel cvd's in the center but the stock ones will hold just fine. You will also find that the pull/spin start will hang over the rear a arm and it will touch on landings from jumps !! this in turn will push the engine mount making the clutch bell push into the spur to avoid this you will need an offset a arm

To finish you will need to make sure your diffs are shimmed correctly or you will trash diffs no end.
I run the big red with full rrp wide ratio steel tranny gears and rrp diff gears (no longer made but in stock still in a few places) and offset a arm and i love it !!!!!!! its a real power house.
