Is the OptiDrive necessary? I think something is wrong with it but don't know what. When I stomp on the throttle it will hesitate for two or three seconds and then take off. it seams to be more while it's moving when it happens. Its purpose (I think) is to keep you from shifting into reverse while it's still moving. I changed the receiver to a Hitec DCX and had to reset the servo centers does this have something to do with my problem? Do I need to re program or do some sort of reset? If memory serves me correctly it has some buttons on it and I assume these are for programing like you have to do a failsafe. If I can't resolve this problem I want to remove it and put in a new failsafe. I don't shift into reverse unless it's stopped anyway so I don't think it'll hurt but I just wanted to know if it's needed for something else.

RE: OptiDrive?
You can remove the optidrive with no ill affects, just like you stated let it come to a complete stop before putting it in reverse. Or you could install the forward only conversion if you don't care for reverse. It is cheap and easy, and I never miss it!!

RE: OptiDrive?
Oh I love reverse. Don't get me wrong I'll keep the OptiDrive if I can get it set up right and do what it's supposed to do and if I can't, it's gone.

RE: OptiDrive?
crack open that manual that came with it. Its really got allot of useful info in there. If you got it used then go to traxxas. The programming of the opti is simple and takes like 4 seconds. I'm sure you prolly need to re program it.

RE: OptiDrive?
fishkilla is right, revo's gears will chew up pretty fast if you mess up by a second or two, l would keep the opti drive and re-set it like above says, and if your having issues maybe its something else, like interferrence ad or a severed wire exposed somewhere.
